Watermelon Sushi is a feature length film about two Japanese-Afrikan American sisters and their quest for identity told against the backdrop of the advent of 1980's hiphop culture. Besides the film, there is a novel, staged musical and anime versions, clothing, paperdolls, a cookbook and other ancillary products. Watermelon Sushi World is a blog that supports those identifying as mixed race along with the Facebook group, Hip Hapa Homeez. There's also a Watermelon Sushi Fan page on Facebook and a line of t-shirts at CafePress called Hapa*Teez.
