You may have thought that, with The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 having dominated the box office and gone on its merry way, you'd not be seeing any Twilight-related items until later this year when the hype for Breaking Dawn - Part 2 will inevitably begin in earnest.  Well, you thought wrong.  Part 1 arrives on Blu-ray and DVD in ten days, and in order to build some awareness for this consumer event, Summit Entertainment has released an online tease of a special feature from the Breaking Dawn Blu-ray.

Right now, Hugo is still playing in nearly 1,000 theaters nationwide, and Martin Scorsese's first foray into shooting 3D is worth the extra few bucks it takes to get that three dimensional ticket.  Still, it'd be a magical movie whether it's being watched in two or three dimensions, and that's good for the impending Blu-ray and DVD release, which Paramount Home Entertainment has just announced will hit shelves on February 28th.

There's a strong chance you may not have seen Drive in theaters back in September, and if that's the case, then it's too bad.  Drive is one hell of a movie, one that's very different from what the TV spots made it out to be.  As of today, it's available on Blu-ray and DVD, so you can rectify the mistake of not having seen it, but if you're still on the fence about this movie that looked like it could just be Ryan Gosling in a rehash of The Fast and the Furious, the first seven minutes are now available to view online, free of charge.

The Muppets is like a wonderful drug that has no detrimental effects, just a delicious happy high that puts a skip in your step and makes you want to kiss strangers on the cheeks.  Now, we know precisely when this rock of cinematic crack can be figuratively smoked in the comfort of our living rooms, as Disney has announced that the theatrical resurrection of Jim Henson's soulful creations will arrive on Blu-ray and DVD on March 20th.

The heaviest superheroic hitters of DC Comics won't be getting a The Avengers-style live action team up movie this year, but as a consolation prize, the popular DC Universe series of features is serving up an animated ensemble with Justice League: Doom.  Warner Home Video has released three new images from the film, which is inspired by Mark Waid's four issue comic arc JLA: Tower of Babel

The idea is that Batman's top secret contingency plans to cripple his fellow Justice League members exploited by bad guys, leaving Bats to clean up the mess that started with paranoia and general coolness.  In the comics, it was Ra's Al Ghul up against the League, but in the new movie, it's the the Legion of Doom.

With The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption arriving on Blu-ray, DVD, and digital download in a matter of mere days, Universal Studios Home Entertainment has seen fit to release four brand new clips from the action adventure.  The last of the four features Victor Webster as the latest actor to portray Mathayus, a role originated by Dwayne Johnson in The Mummy Returns and played by Michael Copon in The Scorpion King: Rise of a Warrior

Naturally, a dude called "The Scorpion King" lays waste to several henchmen without breaking a sweat.  The other three clips include Billy Zane conjuring a cadre of supernatural heavy hitters, a huge battle featuring elephants and great balls of fire, and, finally, a clip of beautiful women Krystal Vee and Selina Lo fighting in inadvisably skimpy outfits.

In Shark Night, a group of sexy young coeds trying to have a raucous weekend at a lavish lake house end up terrorized by various species of sharks hungry for collegiate human flesh.  This week, the film debuted on Blu-ray, DVD, and Video On Demand.  Thanks to Relativity Media and VOD, you – that's right, you right there – could very well end up winning a trip to San Francisco, where you'll be able to swim with Great White Sharks off the coast of California.  Unlike the characters in Shark Night, however, you'd be swimming with sharks in total safety during a full day of cage diving.

Summit Entertainment has formally announced a home entertainment street date for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1.  For the most part, Blu-ray and DVD releases take place on Tuesdays, with certain titles occasionally dropping on Fridays.  This year, Valentine's Day falls on a Tuesday, so you'd think, "Twilight + Valentine's Day = money avalanche."  You're almost undoubtedly correct, but Breaking Dawn won't be dropping on February 14th.  Instead, it will be available for purchase on February 11th.  That's a Saturday, which is pretty odd.  It makes perfect sense that Summit wants to give consumers several days before Valentine's to get those Blu-rays purchased and wrapped, but why not Friday?  Either way, now you know exactly when the latest round of Kristen Stewart on Robert Pattinson action will be at a store near you.

After becoming a surprise hit with both audiences and critics at the end of the summer, Rise of the Planet of the Apes arrives on Blu-ray and DVD today.  In the film, Caesar the hyper-intelligent chimpanzee – a motion-capture performance by Andy Serkis and the experts at Weta Digital that Fox is actively building an Oscar campaign around – goes from a happy little chimp to the leader of a full-blown simian revolution that tears through the streets of San Francisco.  Well, now Caesar and his ape cohorts can tear up your living room via Blu-ray, and in order to promote the home entertainment release, 20th Century Fox recruited Australian street artist Anthony Lister to bring Caesar's invasion home to Los Angeles.

Available on Blu-ray and DVD on December 13th is last summer's blockbuster hit film Rise of the Planet of the Apes, a prequel/reboot of the classic Charlton Heston sci-fi series. The film is directed by Rupert Wyatt (The Escapist) and begins to tell the story of how our Earth was eventually taken over by super-intelligent primates and became the futuristic, Ape-controlled Earth that Heston discovers in the original film. The movie features an all-star cast of actors that includes Academy Award-nominated actor James Franco (Spider-Man), Frieda Pinto (Immortals), Tom Felton (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1), Brian Cox (X2: X-Men United), John Lithgow (Shrek), and motion-capture actor Andy Serkis (King Kong, The Adventures of Tintin) as Caesar, the future leader of the apes revolution.

IAR is proud to present an exclusive behind-the-scenes featurette about the making of Rise of the Planet of the Apes and just how the filmmakers were able to digitally create the apes using performance capture technology. In the clip, director Rupert Wyatt, and motion-capture actor Terry Notary, who played Rocket and Bright Eyes in the film, discuss the technology they used to create all of the primates for the movie.
