After about seven years during which promises of an imminent Sin City sequel started making co-directors Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller seem sort of like broke dads promising their kids a rollercoaster in the backyard, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For is actually happening.  Or at least, it's more likely than it has ever been.  Today, Dimension Films officially announced an October 2, 2013 release date for the sequel, and also confirmed that stars Mickey Rourke and Jessica Alba are committed to return.

With just over a week until the sequel's domestic release, a new Men in Black 3 featurette is here to remind us not only that the film is on the way, but that Rick Baker is now and shall forever be a master of his craft.  This new behind the scenes featurette includes interview snippets with director Barry Sonnenfeld, as well as stars Will Smith, Josh Brolin, Emma Thompson, and Jemaine Clement.

As promised last week, a new "Super Preview" for The Amazing Spider-Man debuted tonight during the season premiere of America's Got Talent.  "What in the hell is a super preview," you ask?  Well, in this case, it's four minutes worth of footage from the 3D reboot of Marvel's webslinging hero.

There's a new theatrical trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man attached to this weekend's The Avengers, but guess what?  It's already online.  Like that new The Dark Knight Rises trailer, this one has preempted its theatrical debut at midnight tonight and can be viewed here and now.

The trailer kicks off with a pretty somber voiceover from Andrew Garfield as the rebooted Peter Parker, making it quite clear that his parents' disappearance is central to this new version of Spidey's psyche and his new origin story.  From there, we get a pretty huge amount of new footage, including no small amount of web-slinging, Lizard-battling, skateboarding, wall-crawling, and police-evading.

A whole mess of new stills from Prometheus have landed online, and here we're offering but a sample of ten images from Ridley Scott's first science fiction film in thirty years.  Amongst the stills is even one behind the scenes look at the man himself, standing next to a RED digital camera and sporting some 3D glasses, as this is also Scott's first foray into shooting 3D.

20th Century's Fox's long game with Prometheus is paying off big, as months and months of total secrecy and an absolutely stunning theatrical trailer have made audiences hungry for even the slightest morsel of new information on the Alien prequel.  The latest print issue of Empire magazine contains a bunch of exclusive material, including new images that are now showing up online as scans.  In addition, director Ridley Scott shares some insight on the film's rating and just what drew him back to the universe he built in 1979.

Step aside Green Goblin, Dr. Octopus, Sandman, Venom, and Harry Osborn on a floating snowboard, the rebooted Spider-Man has a new cinematic nemesis.  Though the tarpaulin of secrecy surrounding the appearance of The Lizard in The Amazing Spider-Man has largely been thrown aside, public looks at the monstrous bad guy have mostly been quick and partial (unless you saw the Comic-Con footage or the sizzle reel).  Today, we have a new straight-ahead look at the digital villain, including his face and his rather intimidating claws.

As you can read in IAR's coverage from the ground at WonderCon in Anaheim, the panel for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter included no shortage of goodies, such as an extended clip and a new theatrical trailer.  Luckily for those of us who couldn't make it to Anaheim, the second theatrical trailer for the history/action/horror mashup is available to view online right now.  It demonstrates once again that, despite the ludicrous premise, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter takes itself very seriously.

Here’s the thing about Prometheus, the 3D sci-fi movie coming out in June of this year. Prometheus was made by a genius. Its story is connected to, by degrees, one of the most important science-fiction narratives in movie history. In short, hardcore followers of Ridley Scott and the tetralogy inspired by his brainchild, Alien, have been waiting for this moment since it was first announced several years ago.

That anticipation was palpable at the WonderCon 2012 Fox Film Panel. The crowd cheered at length before one of the Prometheus script’s writers and panel moderator, Damon Lindelhof, came out to introduce the trailer. (It was to have been the first time an audience saw the Prometheus trailer, but unfortunately, someone leaked the trailer online 12 hours ago).

The crowd was understandably excited. Sir Ridley Scott is directly responsible for stunning movies of visual and narrative splendor across genres. From Alien (1979) to Bladerunner (1982) to Thelma and Louise (1991), Black Hawk Down (2001) and Gladiator (2000), his mythology is specific, humanistic, and resounding.

The full theatrical trailer for Prometheus is now online.  Phrased another way: The new Prometheus trailer can now forcibly insert visual marvelousness into your eyeholes.  We've long known that Ridley Scott's return to science-fiction and the universe of his 1979 masterpiece Alien would be a stylistic treat, since it's Scott and all, but this trailer gives us a better idea of the film's actual story.
