Trailer: 50 Cent in 'Things Fall Apart'

Wednesday, 09 March 2011 09:38

You may have heard that 50 Cent went method and lost 54 pounds to portray a college football player unexpectedly stricken with cancer in the drama Things Fall Apart, directed by card-carrying badass Mario Van Peebles.  Well, now you can see skinny Fiddy in action, as an unofficial trailer for the film has made its way online.  I'm going to emphasis that this is an unofficial trailer.  If you looked up melodrama in the dictionary, you'd find a definition for the word melodrama, but you can save yourself the trouble by watching the trailer.  Also, if you looked up 'terrible movie trailer', you'd find no definition, but again, this unofficial trailer will do the defining for you.

Crawford gets serious in 'Twelve'

Tuesday, 13 July 2010 09:27

There has been a lot of talk about Twelve staring Chace Crawford and Emma Roberts. The film, directed by Joel Schumacher, is getting some positive word of mouth and looks to give Crawford a chance to shine.

Based on the controversial Nick McDonell novel, TWELVE follows high school dropout turned successful drug dealer White Mike (Chace Crawford) in New York's Upper East Side. Business is booming when all of the kids are home from boarding school and everyone has money to blow. Mike leads a double life, concealing the truth from his childhood friend Molly (Emma Roberts) while his supplier Lionel (Curtis Jackson) pulls Mike further into the world of the Manhattan drug trade. Mike’s two lives begin to collide when his cousin is brutally murdered on an East Harlem playground and a new drug, twelve, emerges as the recreational drug of choice.

The premise sounds promising and it also features Curtis Jackson, aka 50 Cent. This looks like it could be a powerful little flick, and a little something different than your typical summer blockbuster. If they can get the “Gossip Girl” fans to see Chace Crawford in an entirely different role on August 6, they may have a winner here.
