Two months ago, the first Mirror Mirror domestic trailer provided the most substantial look at Relativity Media's fantastical reimagining of the classic Snow White fairy tale.  Today, a newly-released international trailer showcases even more of the sumptuous visuals that have become the signature of any film from director Tarsem Singh, who last helmed the hit 3D action epic Immortals

The sight of dwarf bandits gracefully bandying about in elaborately designed stilt costumes – as well as an any number of other visual flourishes, including a lavish costume party and a magnificently designed palace – certainly makes an undeniable impression.  Just as importantly, though, this international trailer also features a better sense of the film's tone, which combines whimsical humor and spirited, swashbuckling adventure in a manner reminiscent of The Princess Bride.

Up until now, we've seen nothing official from Jack the Giant Killer, director Bryan Singer's 3D action adventure that uses the beanstalk-climbing fairy tale as the basis for an epic journey.  Today, Warner Bros. has gone ahead and dropped the teaser trailer online, complete with thumping giants and what looks to be in-process effects work.  Anyone seeing Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows this weekend will see the trailer in theaters, along with the second trailer for a little picture called The Dark Knight Rises, but why not check it out right here and now?

Tintin, the intrepid boy reporter created by Belgian artist Herge in 1929, isn't hugely well known here in America, but he's kind of a big deal pretty much everywhere else on Earth.  As such, his first big screen, 3D motion-capture tale of derring-do, The Adventures of Tintin, begins dropping in international territories later this month, but doesn't arrive Stateside until Christmas time.  In order to tide us over in the meantime, the first official clip from Steven Spielberg's foray into 3D high-tech filmmaking has arrived online.

Early peeks at The Adventures of Tintin, which seems to have wholly abandoned its The Secret of the Unicorn title tag, stringently avoided showing the familiar faces of the comic strip characters created by Belgian artist Herge more than eighty years ago.  Since they're being brought to life through performance capture courtesy of Weta Digital, it was assumed that director Steven Spielberg and producer Peter Jackson didn't want to show unfinished effects carrying that dead-eyed look of empty semi-humanity on the faces of Tintin and friends.

With the film just six months away from hitting American theaters (sooner everywhere else) though, we're getting properly acquainted with the gang.  A new poster features the adventurous reporter, his dog Snowy, and Captain Haddock, along with the Thompson Twins.

The new one-sheet also suggests that the secret of the Unicorn is that the formerly-titular ship's sails are on fire.

With Conan the Barbarian arriving in less than a month, Robert E. Howard's most famous creation returns to the big screen for the first time since Conan the Destroyer in 1984.  Given that seven time Mr. Universe-turned-action-hero-turned-philandering-California-governor Arnold Schwarzenegger made a lasting as a monosyllabic, thickly-accented slab of beef, the actor playing Conan now faces a formidable challenge, but Jason Momoa seems undaunted.  Momoa, who just impressed as Khal Drago on HBO's Game of Thrones, recently discussed his preparation for the role and the challenges of the production.  He also voiced his absolute confidence that we'll be seeing his Conan again in sequels.

An international trailer released last week offered our first look at Disney's John Carter, an epic adaptation of A Princess of Mars by Edgar Rice Burroughs.  That teaser was all mood big, sweeping visuals, with a nod to introducing Taylor Kitsch as the title character and messianic overtones aplenty.  Beyond that, though, the trailer paid no mind to selling the film conceptually; in fact, since the title was shortened from John Carter of Mars, if you're unfamiliar with Burroughs' novels, you'd probably have no idea that the film takes place on Mars.  The domestic teaser is pretty much identical, with just a few shots added in.  Crucially, though, one of these shots gives our first reasonably-close look at one of the Martian species being created through motion capture.

The plucky reporter Tintin may not be a big deal Stateside, but pretty much everywhere else in the world, the comic strip adventurer and his cohorts have been hugely popular since Belgian artist Herge first published a Tintin comic in 1929.  The character's exploits have been adapted to radio, film, and television, and with The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn, he's getting the motion-capture animation treatment from no less a director than Steven Spielberg.  A new international trailer for the film is our best look so far, including lots of globe-trotting adventure and slick animation.  Check it out to see Tintin, played via motion capture by Jamie Bell, along with Andy Serkis as sidekick Captain Haddock and Daniel Craig as the villainous Red Rackham.  And of course there's Tintin's faithful dog Snowy.

The title character in this summer's Conan the Barbarian reboot is not a particularly complicated man.  His primary interests are swords, killing, and avenging the death of his progenitor.  A new UK trailer for the latest cinematic adventure of Robert E. Howard's creation contains Jason Momoa as Conan engaging in these activities, and also provides a showcase for Stephen Lang as the villainous Khalar Zym.  Lang previously went pretty arch as the bad guy in Avatar, but here he appears to have rocketed up the villainy index, sneering like a champ and sporting the kind of haircut only a megalomaniac could get away with.

With less than a month until its theatrical release, Paramount and Marvel Studios have unveiled a new theatrical trailer for Captain America: The First Avenger, the final film before Marvel's big crossover event The Avengers and our cinematic introduction to the future leader of that super-team.  The trailer certainly delivers epic WWII-era action, but before it gets the new explosive stuff, it wisely spends a full minute acquainting the audience with Chris Evans as the "90-pound asthmatic" Steve Rogers, before a dose of Super Soldier serum turns him into America's Avenger.  That minute seems to promise that while the film will provide the requisite summer thrills, it will also have a dose of underdog spirit in keeping with the Marvel ethos.

With Disney and Pixar's Cars 2 puntastically rolling into theaters in a matter of hours, it's time to get excited about the next release from the animation studio.  That would be next summer's original adventure Brave, which follows a princess and aspiring archer named Merida on a journey across the highlands of Scotland that will doubtless test her mettle.  Yesterday, Pixar revealed the teaser poster for the film, and tomorrow a teaser trailer will be attached to Cars 2, but today brings a new image of Merida, along with a look at three previously-unseen supporting characters.
