As long as there's been an internet rumor factory, unsubstantiated stories about whichever James Bond film is on the way have come down the figurative conveyor belt with regularity.  The delay in getting underway on the as-yet untitled Bond 23 – due to the insolvency of MGM – has not caused rumors to abate one bit, but some of the rumors turn out to be true.  A month ago, Naomie Harris was reported to have met with director Sam Mendes for an unspecified role in the next Bond adventure, and according to The Daily Mail today, Harris is now in negotiations to play Miss Moneypenny, a sassy lass not seen since 2002's Die Another Day.

At the moment, British actor Martin Freeman is shooting the second series of the BBC's excellent Sherlock, on which he plays a modern day Dr. Watson.  Once he wraps that up, though, he'll head back down to New Zealand to continue his work on The Hobbit, director Peter Jackson's two-part prequel adaptation of JRR Tolkein's novel.  Freeman is playing the titular hobbit, Mr. Bilbo Baggins, who was played by Sir Ian Holm in the Lord of the Rings trilogy.  Now, it looks like could very well be joined in Middle Earth by his Sherlock co-star Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays one hell of a Sherlock Holmes.

Hanna, the new film from Atonement director Joe Wright, looks surprisingly cool.  On paper, an action film from the director of Pride and Prejudice starring Saoirse Ronan as a 16 year-old super assassin trained by Eric Bana and pursued by Cate Blanchett might seem laughable, but this trailer suggests an unexpectedly wild ride.  Even if the film doesn't live up to that trailer, it will be accompanied by a unique and propulsive score from Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons, better known as The Chemical Brothers.  Their entire score is now streaming online.

If you ask me, Danny Boyle’s 127 Hours hasn’t gotten the commercial love it deserves.  Apparently Fox Searchlight agrees with me, because on January 28th, they’re expanding the film from 76 theaters to more than 600.  That’s a pretty huge expansion, particularly considering that 127 Hours opened in early November, and at its widest was in 433 locations.  Well, why, you ask, make this move on January 28th, then?  Because that’s three days after the Oscar nominations are announced.

Leave it to Funny or Die to spread humor throughout this holiday season. In a new video featuring James Franco and his grandmother, she offers a very special message to all of those that had issues with the amputation sequence in 127 Hours.

When asked what she thinks of all the wary moviegoers, she teased, “I think they’re a bunch of pu**ies!”.
