Here in America, we love buying products with negligible utility, particularly if such items are sold to us via out televisions, like the immortal EggWave and ShamWOW, both of which no doubt enriched countless lives with the endless convenience assured by their quality manufacturing.  In Father of Invention, two-time Oscar winner and one-time Verbal Kint Kevin Spacey plays Robert Axle, a millionaire with an infomercial empire.  His latest contraption, a remote control/ab workout combination called The Ab-Clicker ends up chopping consumers fingers off, though, and after a lengthy stay in prison, Axle has to try to pull his once-magnificent live back together.  The first trailer for Father of Inventiona has arrived for your viewing pleasure.

You don't have to think, as I do, that the sensibility behind Jackass is a sublime and surprisingly clever form of comedy in order to be intrigued by the trailer for Beauty DaySlashfilm posted the trailer for Jay Cheel's documentary about Ralph Zavadil, aka Captain Video, the creator and star of a Canadian public access show in which he performed all manner of brutal and grotesque stunts, even breaking his neck, for the sake of comedy.  His show ran from 1990-1995, a solid five years before Jackass showed up on MTV.  For realsies, this is one of the best trailers I've seen in a dog's age.

The ‘Jackass’ Boys Parody ‘Black Swan’

Wednesday, 19 January 2011 12:24

When the Jackass boys first hit MTV so many moons ago, did anyone imagine that they’d still be a cultural force a decade later? I mean, they’ve spawned multiple Teevee shows and a trilogy of very successful films. Not bad for a bunch of dudes who electrocute their own testicles. This year, the boys are starring in four shorts parodying the Critics Choice Movie Awards Best Picture nominees. While their Inception short was so-so, they’ve hit it out of the park with Black Swan.

After a 50 million dollar record breaking opening weekend, it is no surprise that Paramount will continue showing Jackass the love. There was talk that Jackass 3.5, a whole separate movie of stunts shot for – but cut out of – would make its way to theaters. That idea has reportedly been nixed and Jackass 3.5, featuring about an hour of new footage that couldn’t fit into the theatrical release, will hit DVD and online in January. Much like Jackass 2.5 before it, it will not be an extra on the eventual DVD release of the theatrical film but will, instead, but a totally separate movie.

During an interview with MTV you'll find there is so much more to see, and that would include about three to four-minutes of Chris Pontius’ penis. “Oh, God! There's a lot of good stuff. Just the three-minute, four-minute bit on [Chris] Pontius' penis. All the different things we tried with his wang. It's hilarious. And 'Incredible Nut Shots,' we spent more time on that than any bit we've ever shot. That turned out really good.” Johnny Knoxville claimed.

‘Jackass 3.5’ Headed For Theaters Soon?

Tuesday, 19 October 2010 09:58

Incase you’ve been asleep at the wheel of life, Jackass 3D not only dominated at the box office this past weekend, it’s got everyone and their brother talking about it. That’s precisely the reason no one should be shocked at the news that Paramount is looking to take Jackass 3D’s cut footage - which was initially slated to be released on DVD a month or so following Jackass 3D’s theatrical run - repackage it, and release it theatrically.

‘Jackass 3D’ Breaks Box Office Record

Monday, 18 October 2010 07:59

Well, the insane Jackass crew exceeded expectations this weekend in a major way. Jackass 3D earned $50 million; a pretty impressive showing, considering pundits predicted a $30 million opening.

Of interesting note, both prior Jackass films also opened in the top box office slot. The first film banked $23 million in it’s October 2002 opening weekend; the second film drew $29 million in it’s September 2006 opening weekend.

Today is the big day! Jackass 3D is finally here to have you laughing your ass off and possibly needing a barf bag!

This past year at San Diego Comic Con, iamROGUE.com joined Bam Margera and Steve-O. for a brew, a burger and a preview of their latest feature. Paramount threw a good party and nobody went to the hospital, at least not that I’m aware of.

In honor of the big release day, we thought it would be worth re-visiting Bam talk about penises, vomit and pee.  And of course, chat with Steve-O and just enjoy hanging with the chill guy he is.

You Rate This Weeks New Releases!

Friday, 15 October 2010 10:08

There are nearly 25 movies opening this week in theatres. That’s a lot of flicks even though most won't be playing at a multi-plex near you.  With that said, what are you going to spend your hard earned dollar on?

Many will want to test their gag reflexes with Paramount’s Jackass 3D. Although, Johnny Knoxville and crew aren’t the only ones stirring things up…

How about Helen Mirren with a machine gun and Bruce Willis in his best role in years? Red is also opening up today with generally favorable reviews.

Hereafter presents Clint Eastwood taking on a completely different type of feature. This supernatural thriller features Matt Damon and Haute Tension’s Cecile de’France. Finally, an inspirational, true story called Conviction opens. Hilary Swank, Sam Rockwell and Peter Gallagher star in this tale of a sister (Swank) devoted to overturning her brothers (Rockwell) murder conviction.

VBS TV released a truly entertaining 15 minute documentary that highlights behind-the-scenes footage of the making of Jackass 3D.

The film features some interviews with Jackass leader Johnny Knoxville as he discusses his 3D apprehension, and the inclusion of outside filmmakers into an already tight knit group of madmen.

Creator Spike Jonze shares his thoughts on the project, and seems truly mystified by the 3D adventure the Jackass crew embarks on, praising the film’s look, and a few specific sequences.

Throughout the video below you’ll get a chance to hear quite a bit of insight from the crew, and you’ll be treated to a few…inappropriate shots. But it’s all in great fun, and the documentary really does ignite further interest in the official film.

Check out the documentary below before you head to your local theater to check out the actual film, which is looking to be a must see (at least by my shallow standards).

If you can’t get a laugh out of Jackass, you’re likely blind and deaf. Johnny Knoxville, Bam Margera, Steve-O and the boys have pulling off hilariously stunts for a decade, and now, 10 full years after their MTV premiere, the crew will once again hit the big screen in Jackass 3D.

It’s no secret that the crew have modeled many stunts off other mainstream mediums. The difference is they take humorous scenario’s and multiply them about 1000 fold.

In the clip you’re about to see, Ryan Dunn is set up in an extreme parody of the popular Miramax ad in which speakers literally blow the seated listener away. Well, take out the speaker and toss in a massive jet engine, and you’ve got yourself classic Jackass.
