Warner Bros continues to power ahead with Winter's Tale, its rather improbable adaptation of Mark Helprin's classic and seemingly unadaptable novel.  Last month, the studio cast Downtown Abbey's Jessica Brown Findlay as female lead Beverly Penn, and we've been left wondering just who would play Peter Lake, the rakish burglar and world-class second story man who falls for her.  Our wondering might just be over, as Variety is reporting that Warner Bros. has offered the role to Colin Farrell.

It's been awhile since we heard much from Man of Steel, the new Superman movie currently being directed by Zack Snyder.  In fact, the last thing we posted on the reboot was a picture of Henry Cavill kindly posing for a picture with a young lad whilst wearing his full Superman gear.  Two months later, there are some new, albeit bite-sized, info-nuggets on the film from the guy who designed that costume, Michael Wilkinson.

Over the last several months, Downton Abbey fever has swept America, and with so much of the Colonies digging the Masterpiece Theater stylings, it was only a matter of time before a young castmember ended up in a big Hollywood movie.  Jessica Brown Findlay, who plays the strong-willed Lady Sybil  – everyone's favorite Crawley daughter – will star as the female lead in Winter's Tale. Not only that, but the search for a young thespian to play male lead Peter Lake is down to two familiar actors.

A year ago, it actually looked like Darren Aronofsky's next movie would be the X-Men spin-off sequel The Wolverine.  That didn't happen, obviously, and rather than getting his adamantium on, the director has been trying get his Old Testament epic Noah off the ground.  One essential part of making a movie based on the story of Noah's Ark and the flood requires a proper Noah, and it looks very much like that Noah is going to end up being Russell Crowe.

Months ago, when Man of Steel was shooting on location in Illinois, we were seeing photos from the set of the Superman reboot regularly.  These included plenty of looks at Henry Cavill in the newly redesigned Superman costume, as well as a small sense of the scale on which director Zack Snyder is setting up the film's action sequences.  Since the production began shooting on soundstages in Vancouver, British Columbia, though, set photos and the like have become rare.  A new behind the scenes image reminds us of the good times and provides a solid, close up look at Cavill in costume.

Remember about three weeks ago, when unofficial images from the set of the Superman reboot Man of Steel showed new Clark Kent Henry Cavill in a mocked-up Alaskan fishing village with a distinctly un-Kentish beard and vagrant's outfit?  Sure you do.  How about those other unofficial images with an equally bearded Cavill topless and sporting nothing but tattered pants?  Of course you remember those.  New photos from the Vancouver Man of Steel set prove beyond the shadow of a doubt that 300 director Zack Snyder will indeed be providing plenty of super-shirtlessness in the newly rebooted Superman adventure.

In 1978's Superman, as directed by Richard Donner, Marlon Brando played Superman's Kryptonian father Jor-El, a wise, beneficent, silver-coiffed scientist attempting to warn his doomed homeworld of impending planetary disaster.  Some digital work even allowed Brando to briefly reprise the role posthumously in Superman Returns, but in the currently-filming Superman reboot Man of Steel, Jor-El is played by none other than Russell Crowe.  Earlier this month, a batch of unofficial pictures from the Vancouver set gave our first look at Crowe in costume, which is traditionally regal, but more martial than past Jor-Els.  Now, Crowe himself has indicated that his version of Superdad is more physical, getting into a proper fight with a combatant the identity of whom is a minor spoiler.

Just yesterday, a slew of official images from the 3D action epic Immortals featured lead Henry Cavill looking ridiculously fit and consistently shirtless.  Today, a crop of photos from the British Columbia set of the Superman reboot Man of Steel indicate that the latest iteration of Clark Kent will be no stranger to occasional shirtlessness.  Last week, images from the set of the Zack Snyder-directed franchise restart showed Cavill looking rather destitute and bearded in an Alaskan fishing town, but these new pictures do the destitution one better.

Unless the creative team and Warner Bros have managed to keep a spectacular secret, the Superman reboot Man of Steel will not include the Big Blue Boy Scout's familiar nemesis, Lex Luthor.  But director Zack Snyder and screenwriter David S. Goyer couldn't really omit another alliteratively-named supporting character in the Superman mythology, so you can count on Clark Kent crushing on Lois Lane like crazy.  Last week, photos from the Canadian set showed our first look at three-time Oscar nominee Amy Adams in costume as the Daily Planet's star reporter.  Here again we have a new batch of images featuring Adams on set, and anyone hoping against reason that last week's images were a mistake and Lane would not have Adams' natural red hair is in for doubled down disappointment.

It's been a busy week for unofficial photos from the Vancouver, British Columbia set of Superman reboot Man of Steel.  Just this morning we saw Henry Cavill looking very much like a vagrant, sporting an uncharacteristic beard and tramp outfit on a mocked-up Alaskan fishing village.  On Tuesday, an integral character in the Superman canon was seen in his new cinematic form with pictures of Russell Crowe taking a smoke break as Superman's dad, Jor-El arriving online.  Now, we have our first look at another indispensable character, as new set photos show Amy Adams in costume as intrepid Daily Planet reporter Lois Lane.

In a move that will surely raise the eyebrows of many a purist, this rebooted Lois retains Adams' naturally red hair color.  Most folks assumed she'd be undergoing a dye job or wearing a wig like the blonde Kate Bosworth in Superman Returns, but we're looking at a red-haired Lois.  Since the whole idea behind Man of Steel is to present a new take that will reinvigorate the cinematic Superman, this isn't a big shock.  And it's not without precedent, as Lois had appeared with red hair in the DC comics history before.
