At long last a Hollywood tragedy has been corrected … Adam West has finally received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
A few weeks ago the actor best known for his legendary role as Batman, as well as his recent role as himself on Family Guy, finally received his long overdue and well-deserved Hollywood star. On hand to help West celebrate his honor was Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane and in fact, the ceremony was recorder and will appear on the upcoming Family Guy Volume 10 DVD, which will be released late this fall.
A week ago, director Christopher Nolan dropped some fairly big story information on The Dark Knight Rises, along with a crop of images that we saw as pretty low-quality scans, but today we've got some bigger, cleaner, cooler versions of the aforementioned images. So now you can get a better look at Christian Bale once again rocking the bat-armor on his batpod and in chilly-looking Gotham City. The big show here, though, is definitely Tom Hardy's Bane, who is striking a pose, standing atop a Tumbler besmirching Harvey Dent's good name, and seemingly shouting "Come at me, bro!" at an exhausted-looking Dark Knight. Oh, and there's even a new behind the scenes picture of Nolan (C-Note, as he's known on the streets of Gotham) with one of those bulky, loud, and expensive IMAX cameras of which he is so fond.
The Dark Knight Rises is nearing the end of its principal photography, and yesterday we heard that Christopher Nolan might film scenes that utilize the Occupy Wall Street protests when production heads to Manhattan next week. Just because the conclusion of Nolan's Bat-saga hasn't even finished yet doesn't mean anticipation can't already be at ridiculous levels. A new rumor asserts that Warner Bros will continue riling up audiences everywhere by attaching an six-minute IMAX The Dark Knight Rises prologue to this December's IMAX release of Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol.
Since Batman: The Animated Series first premiered in the early 1990's, Kevin Conroy has voiced the Caped Crusader on multiple television series, as well as in a theatrical feature, and multiple videogames. He's sitting out Warner Premiere's new animated feature, Batman: Year One, as it features a younger Batman, but Conroy's back in Justice League: Doom, the next DC Universe-based animated movie. At New York Comic-Con this weekend, Warner Premiere debuted the first trailer for the superhero ensemble, which is loosely based on Mark Waid's comic arc Justice League: Tower of Babel. The story finds each member of the League made vulnerable when an enemy utilizes Batman's secret contingency plans against his cohorts. As you can see in the trailer, the enemy in Doom is, appropriately enough, the Legion of Doom.
A new trio of videos from the Los Angeles portion of The Dark Knight Rises production have made their way online, this time from night shooting over the weekend. None are terribly revealing, but they are cool and show off a certain sense of scale to the sequel's action sequences. That said, they could also be considered just a tiny bit spoilery, so if you're sensitive in the slightest, best to skip all three.
At the conclusion of The Dark Knight, you'll recall Christian Bale's Batman taking the hit for the murders carried out by Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart) and becoming public enemy number one, forcing his good buddy and champion mustache-wearer Commissioner Gordon (Gary Oldman) to publicly pursue him. These videos, probably from very early in the new film, demonstrate that the Gotham Police Department is pretty serious about catching Batman, as a ridiculous number of police vehicles give chase to the Batpod.
Upon seeing the freshly-released first image of Anne Hathaway in a skintight outfit as Selina Kyle, one might reasonably have wondered why Warner Bros chose this seemingly ordinary, unremarkable Friday to reveal such an image into The Dark Knight Rises. After all, the final installment of Christopher Nolan's Bat-trilogy is still damn near a year away. Well, it turns out that the picture was released on account exterior shooting on location in Pittsburgh, which today involved a Catwoman stunt double astride the batpod as it rolled through the battle scene that's been filming over the last week. The Brothers Warner jumped ahead of the inevitable set photos with the official release, but those set photos do offer a fuller look at the new Catwoman outfit.
The production of The Dark Knight Rises has been underway since the beginning of November, when it kicked off in India. From there, Christopher Nolan's final installment in his Bat-trilogy moved on to United Kingdom, and now it has finally arrived Stateside. Filming will take place in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania through August 21st. The Rust Belt city serving as a partial stand-in for Gotham City, which will be a pastiche of Pittsburgh, London, Los Angeles, and New York. With the production arrived in town, Nolan and star Christian Bale hosted a brief press conference at the Pittsburgh Renaissance Hotel, where they praised the city and revealed a few details about the film.

British actor Michael Gough passed away today at the age of 94. Gough is most well known for playing Alfred Pennyworth, Bruce Wayne's loyal butler and conscience, in the Batman franchise prior to its rebooting with Batman Begins in 2005. He was one of only two actors to appear in all four of the Batman films directed by Tim Burton and Joel Schumacher.
With this Warner Bros. press release, we’re seeing the end of months, nay, years of frantic speculation as to the villains in the final installment of Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy. The Dark Knight Rises has its baddies: Anne Hathaway will be playing Selina Kyle, who moonlights as slinky seductress Catwoman, and Tom Hardy, who has been attached to the film for months now in a mysterious role, will be Bane, the ‘roided out bad guy who broke Batman’s back in the ‘90’s.
