Box Office Roundup: January 14 - 16, 2011 'Green Hornet' Lands at #1

The Green Hornet easily flew into the top spot this weekend at the box office. The superhero action/comedy opened with a strong $34 million in its first three days, making it the 3rd highest January opening of all-time! Ron Howard’s latest, The Dilemma also opened to a pretty decent $17 million. The Vince Vaughn/Kevin James comedy didn’t excite critics, but it earned enough audience attention to open in 2nd place.

True Grit is still showing it’s worth taking 3rd place with an impressive $11.2 million. The King’s Speech and Black Swan finish off the top five with $9.1 million and $8.1 million respectively.
