Since before the sequel started production over the summer, we've known that Thor: The Dark World would find the Asgardian Avenger facing off against the villainous Dark Elves of Svartalfheim, led by Christopher Eccleston as Malekith the Accursed.  Thanks to a pair of new unofficial photos from the set, the Dark Elves themselves stand revealed in all their creepy alien glory.

Thor: The Dark World, the sophomore feature in Marvel Studios' "Phase Two" continues to shoot in and around London under the code name Thursday Morning.  That means yet more unofficial photos from the sequel's production, this time showing Chris Hemsworth sporting the Asgardian Avenger's slightly modified costume, thunder-bringing hammer Mjolnir, and flamboyant red cape.

Thor: The Dark World, the second entry in Marvel Studios' second phase of cinematic universe-building, is currently filming in and around London, England.  With The Avengers having arrived on Blu-ray and DVD, Marvel and Disney's sights are set resolutely on the future, and in order to draw our eyes more raptly towards that horizon, they've released an official synopsis for the next adventure of Chris Hemsworth as the God of Thunder.

With The Avengers, we know that the hammer-wielding Asgardian deity can handle being part of a team onscreen.  Before once again taking orders from Captain America in The Avengers 2, though, Thor Odinson will hurl Mjolnir around all over again in Thor: The Dark World.  Currently in production in London, the sequel is set for next November, and Chris Hemsworth is talking about returning to the role for time number three.

How's this for Oscar bait?  Michel Hazanavicius, fresh off his win for last year's The Artist, directing Academy Award winning actors Tom Hanks and Natalie Portman in a drama based on a bestselling work of historical narrative non-fiction that follows an American diplomat in Nazi Berlin prior to WWII?  If it all works out, In the Garden of Beasts could be a formidable prestige picture.

Even when he's in a movie like, say, Prometheus, that inspires no end of criticism and bitching, Michael Fassbender emerges unscathed.  Since most of the movies in which he appears inspire an altogether more positive reactions, his potential involvement in Jane Got Her Gun is good news for star Natalie Portman and director Lynne Ramsay.

A month ago to the day, we learned that next year's Marvel sequel Thor: The Dark World is using the code-title Thursday Morning and will film an action sequence in the Bourne Wood, a forest near Farnham, Surrey, England.  Today, we have some thoroughly unofficial images of the location, complete with some pillars that make it look less like an ordinary forest.

Have you ever heard the saying that a plan is simply a list of things that don't happen?  Well, the plan has long been to theatrically re-release all six movies in the Star Wars franchise.  In 3D.  The plan was to re-release one movie per year, starting with Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace and finishing off with Return of the Jedi in 2017.  With The Phantom Menace in the bag, Lucasfilm has now changed the plan for the next two installments.
