It’s certainly all too familiar for the films Marni (played by the charming Kristin Bell), who’s escaped the troubles of the schoolyard, and grown to be a successful publicist. She’s also about to be reunited with her old tormenter, who happens to be preparing to wed her big brother.Talk about a tough situation. I can‘t even imagine placing myself in such a scenario. Kristin Bell‘s mind seems to be a bit more open and understanding than my own apparently, “It's about recognizing that you may have had a mean girl but she probably had a mean girl. It's a full circle.” Bell tells Dolor author and ARTISTdirect.com editor Rick Florino in this (exclusive interview).
Bell’s co-star Odette Yustman plays onscreen nemesis Joanna. And while Joanna may seem quite a burden for any potential victim to handle, it was a completely different element of the character that Yustman found compelling, “I think it truly was her vulnerability. You can see that. You can tell that she wants to change. She so desperately wants to become this person that she thinks she already is, until she realizes she really owes an apology and she did do those horrible things.” Yustman shares (along with plenty of other intriguing insight) with Florino here in this (companion interview).Through the course of the film a series of emotions are put on display for audiences to chomp on. Sure you’ve got your mischievous moments, and your heartfelt scenes. But make no mistake about it, there’s plenty of laughing, clowning and even a bit of dancing in store for You Again viewers to enjoy. Really, who can’t get down to some Kriss Kross?Well, I’m not certain Sigourney Weaver slaps “Jump” into rotation on a regular basis, but she was kind enough take time out of her day to share some of her high school music favorites, as was You Again’s director Andy Fickman. You can check out what these superstars were jamming to back when pimples still plagued the flesh and superstar success was foreign land, by simply going HERE.
