Rogue of the Week: Chloe Moretz

Wednesday, 04 August 2010 12:57

It feels as though this week has truly been a Kick-Ass one. Firstly, the jam-packed Blu-ray arrived and we were thankful for it. Then iamROGUE had the opportunity to speak to the one, the only, “Hit-Girl”, Chloe Moretz which you can check out here.

With all that, trying to narrow down the Rogue of the Week was an easy task.

The opening sequence for Kick-Ass is shockingly good. It is unconventional, it is outrageous and it breaks the rules early on. This is not your average film. Yet the next half hour or so, we are brought back to reality as a young man named Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson) wonders what it would be like to be a super-hero. In many ways this is simply a coming-of-age story for Dave and his alter ego “Kick-Ass”. He has a couple of friends who think he is a little off, and he likes a girl who is convinced he is gay. There is certainly nothing ground-breaking there.

Chloe Moretz is smart, charming and has a resume that many seasoned professionals would hope for.

She appeared in The Amitiyville Horror along with Ryan Reynolds and she even gave Joseph Gordon-Levitt a hard time in (500) Days of Summer. But that was nothing…

Then there was “Hit-Girl”; the foul-mouthed, violence prone killer in Kick-Ass (out on DVD and Blu-Ray August 3rd) Chloe took on the character with amazing energy and delight. So much so that this iconic character has become a staple costume at Comic Con, with men, women and children donning the wig and cape.
