If you thought you'd have to wait until your butt was in a seat at The Avengers to see the new trailer for The Dark Knight Rises, you were mistaken. The third trailer for Christopher Nolan's final installment in his Batman trilogy is online in full right here, right now.
A little movie desperately trying to garner some attention, The Dark Knight Rises is filming on location in New York for just one more week, after which production will wrap and months of blurry metropolitan set photos will finally come to an end. As it happens, though, what could very well be the last crop of unofficial images from the production have arrived online, and the goings-on in Gotham are pretty huge. These images from the set of Christopher Nolan's finale to his much-loved Batman saga are, however, quite packed with SPOILERS, so avert your eyes right about now if you're at all wary of being spoiled. If, on the other hand, you never miss a spoiler from The Dark Knight Rises, venture onward.
Opening in theaters on October 7th is the new coming of age comedy from first time director Abe Sylvia called Dirty Girl. The film features an excellent cast of young and veteran actors including Juno Temple (The Dark Knight Rises), Milla Jovovich (The Fifth Element), William H. Macy (Fargo), Mary Steenburgen (Back to the Future Part III), Dwight Yoakam (Sling Blade), Nicholas D'Agosto (Final Destination 5), Tim McGraw (The Blind Side), and newcomer Jeremy Dozier.
IAR's managing editor Jami Philbrick recently had a chance to sit down and talk with actors Juno Temple and Jeremy Dozier about their work in Dirty Girl. The actors spoke openly about the film, their characters and the friendship that they form, working with writer/director Abe Sylvia, the '80s, and the music of Melissa Manchester.
This week, Warner Bros closes out one of the biggest franchises in the studio's history as Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 finishes the eight-film series adapting JK Rowling's novels. Apparently, they'll use the finale of one franchise to introduce the finale of another, as the first official teaser trailer for The Dark Knight Rises will reportedly be attached to the final adventure of the Boy Who Lived. That's right, in less than a week we might just get our first look or listen at more than blurry, long-distance video of Christian Bale and Anne Hathaway shooting a dialogue scene.
Okay, there's another The Dark Knight Rises spoiler today, though this is one is considerably more puzzling. The total secrecy around Christopher Nolan's final installment of his hugely successful Bat-Trilogy has only amplified the scrutiny and speculation regarding even the smallest nugget of information on the sequel. Today, one such nugget emerged that could be a quality surprise, but could also have huge implications for the Batman finale. Either way, it's definitely a big spoiler, and if you want to stay clean on The Dark Knight Rises, you'll want to avoid this news.
Standing in the charred ruins of his ancestral mansion at the end of Batman Begins, Christian Bale's Bruce Wayne pledged to rebuild Wayne Manor "brick for brick, just like it was." The Wayne family digs and the Batcave beneath sat out The Dark Knight, but for Christopher Nolan's conclusion to his Bat-trilogy, the mansion will once again be home to Bruce and his alter ego. It seems, however, that the currently-filming The Dark Knight Rises will use a new, even swankier-looking location to represent Wayne Manor.
When you see a headline about a masked man clambering around on the side of a building on the set of The Dark Knight Rises, you naturally assume that Christian Bale (or a qualified stuntman) is sporting the cape and cowl as Batman. Or maybe that the character in question is the villainous Bane, played by Tom Hardy. The figure in this new, puzzling set photo however, doesn't look like Batman or the one official look we've had of Bane. Nor, for that matter, does it look at at all like Catwoman, who will be brought to life by Anne Hathaway.
The production of the terribly mysterious final installment of Christopher Nolan's Bat-trilogy is underway, with a small location shoot in Jodhpur, India kicking off shooting on The Dark Knight Rises. Nolan and star Christian Bale are both in attendance, but what is reported to be the very first set photo shows neither individual, at least not in any detail whatsoever. Instead, the picture shows a green screen set up that may very well indicate the presence of a Lazarus Pit, the resurrection hole discovered by none other than Ra's al Ghul.
When not releasing promotional images for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1, Summit Entertainment also likes to drop a picture or two from The Three Musketeers, the 3D update of Alexandre Dumas' 200 year-old novel. Three new images show D'Artagnan and the Musketeers, played by Logan Lerman, Luke Evans, Matthew Macfadyen, and Ray Stevenson, along with Juno Temple as Queen Anne, Milla Jovovich as M'Lady De Winter, and Christoph Waltz as Cardinal Richelieu. Dither no longer, you rapscallion, take a look the pictures, right here.
There's no shortage of unconfirmed, possibly nonsense information constantly circulating when it comes to The Dark Knight Rises, but every once in a while a new alleged info-nugget has just enough precedent that it's worth throwing out there for consideration. We know, for example, that Christopher Nolan is fond of proving that he can take Batman out of Gotham without taking Gotham out of Batman, so to speak. Nolan's Batman, played by Christian Bale, has spent chunks of his previous two adventures abroad, and a new rumor suggests that the production will spend some time in Jodhpur, India.
