Rogue 5: Top 5 Super Bowl TV Ads (Movies)

Super Bowl XLV had a ton of great commercials as we previously mentioned here. Yet, it is also a time to see some really cool trailers for upcoming films. So continuing with our countdown of some of the best TV Spots for the big game, we now take a look at the top five trailers of the night.

5. Thor

I’m looking forward to this flick on many levels. First and foremost, Kenneth Branagh is a very exciting choice when it comes to superhero directors. Add to that a couple of geek worthy names including Natalie Portman and Anthony Hopkins and you’ve got what could be a terrific summer flick.

4. Cowboy’s & Aliens

With Jon Favreau directing, and a script by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, this is another film that seems like a really good thing. Daniel Craig is great and Harrison Ford is legendary, so you’ve got something going in that aspect. And then there is Olivia Wilde to add the hotness factor… yes sir, this here Cowboys & Aliens might be darn good blockbuster.

3. Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

Honestly, when the idea of another Pirates was rolling around, I was done with the series. Why would you want to return after losing both Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley? Two words, Johnny Depp. In this quick trailer, Depp seems to be in top form as Captain Jack Sparrow, so at this point I’m willing to give it another go.

2. Drive Angry 3D

Yes, I’m that guy. Guns, car chases, satanic cults, and Nicolas Cage all in one. Oh yeah, and it has Amber Heard in there too. Frankly, that would be reason enough to go see this flick. Yet the fun only begins with the casting, Patrick Lussier is one director that knows how to have a blast with 3D [My Bloody Valentine], and this is sure to be a helluva good time at the movies.

1. Limitless

Bradley Cooper is undeniably cool. He can make a bad movie good just by doing his thing. Cooper is the essence of movie star and he is the one actor that could really shake things up in this intriguing little thriller. What is the potential danger of somebody completely living up to their potential? And why is Robert De Niro so good at playing the heavy? I don’t know but I can’t wait to find out.

Did Limitless and Drive Angry get your pulse-pounding? If not, what was your favorite trailer of the night?
