Rogue 5: The Coolest Things Happening In Entertainment This Week!

Each week the Rogue 5 spotlights the five coolest things happening in entertainment that you need to check out this week! We cover everything entertainment related including movies, TV, music, DVD & Blu-ray, comic books, the Internet, and more.

5. His Way

For over 35 years Jerry Weintraub has been one of the most influential and infamous producers working in Hollywood. He began his career as a concert promoter collaborating with such musical legends as Elvis Presley, Led Zeppelin, Neil Diamond, John Denver, and Frank Sinatra. But Weintraub left his real mark on Hollywood as a movie producer having worked on such classic films as Nashville, Diner, and The Karate Kid. He would go on to produce the Ocean's Eleven series and the recent remake, The Karate Kid with Jaden Smith. The new HBO documentary His Way, which is currently playing on the cable network, chronicles the rise, the fall, and the rise again of the legendary producer with candid interviews from his friends and family including George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, and former-President George H. W. Bush. His Way is running all month long on HBO.

4. Casa Di Me Padre Trailer

There is a reason why Will Ferrell is one of the funniest actors working today ... he's willing to take risks that no other comedian is willing to take. In a word ... he's fearless! You only have to watch his classic "Cow Bell" sketch from SNL to know that. But now comes more evidence of Ferrell's comedy genius with the release of the trailer to his new film Casa Di Me Padre. The movie is an almost-exclusively Spanish-language spoken film that will feature sub-titles and Ferrell portraying a character named Armando. The actor plays a poor ranch hand that falls in love with his more successful brother's gorgeous bride-to-be. Based on the trailer ... this could be the actor's best work since Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy. The Casa Di Me Padre  trailer is currently available online.

3. Gary Busey on The Celebrity Apprentice

When Oscar nominated actor/professional crazy-man Gary Busey was chosen to appear on the most recent season of Donald Trump's popular reality series The Celebrity Apprentice, everyone knew that he was going to steal the show but I don't think anyone imagined that he would be this entertaining. Is he brilliant ... insane ... or a combination of both? From getting inside Meatloaf's head and instigating a riot, to flashing the camera with "little Gary," Busey has been on fire since the season started. The actor has certainly won over the heart of his potential boss and has begged the question from his teammates: why does Trump like this guy so much? Is it just because he was nominated for an Oscar in 1978? After last week's showdown with Mark McGrath, which Busey barely survived, it looks like the actor might be living on borrowed time now that he has completely alienated himself from his own team. So if you want a chance to see this wild-man in action ... you better tune in this week before it's too late! The Celebrity Apprentice airs Sunday nights on NBC.

2. Hanna

The film from Atonement director Joe Wright is not only visually stunning, but it is also filled with more action and excitement than you would expect from the man that brought us Pride and Prejudice. The movie is smart, fast, well acted, and features an amazing soundtrack from The Chemical Brothers. Cate Blanchett is fantastic as the film's villain, and Eric Bana gives an equally strong performance as the title character's father. But it is Saoirse Ronan (Lovely Bones), who plays Hanna, who steals the movie with her piercing blue eyes and honest portrayal of a girl born to fulfill one violent mission of revenge. The less you know about this film going into it, the more you'll enjoy its twists and turns but if you liked Children of Men ... then you will LOVE this movie! Hanna is currently playing in theaters.

1. Michael Shannon cast as General Zod in Superman: Man of Steel

The Oscar nominated actor, who was last seen in the ill-fated comic book adapted film Jonah Hex, has been long rumored to be the top choice to play the villain in director Zack Snyder's upcoming Superman film, but this week the news was finally made official. The actor will play General Zod in Snyder's reboot, which is currently titled Superman: Man of Steel. While it's not a shock that the actor was finally cast, he is a surprising choice considering that British actor Terrence Stamp originated the role in 1978's Superman: The Movie and of course is who made the classic line, "KNEEL BEFORE ZOD," famous. But if anyone can step into the evil-Kryptonian's shoes it's Shannon, who has a reputation for becoming unrecognizable with each new role he takes. But the most exciting part of this news for comic book fans is the announcement that the new film will feature Superman going toe-to-toe with General Zod, a fellow Kryptonian, as apposed to a bald-headed guy with a green crystal, like in the last film. Superman: The Man of Steel is scheduled for release in December of 2012.
