A new look behind the scenes of Thor: The Dark World offers up plenty of new footage from the sequel and promises that the next Marvel Studios release ups the ante considerably, expanding on the scope and emotion of its predecessor.
Everybody loves Tom Hiddleston as Loki. In both Thor and The Avengers, Loki hit just the right villainous note, going arch enough to be a proper villain, but also showing just enough vulnerability that he doesn't become a mustache-twirler.
Everybody loves Loki, so Thor: The Dark World ought to please everybody, since Marvel Studios is juicing the sequel with even more of the God of Mischief. Not only that, but it turns out jumbo-sized Loki will be on international IMAX screens early, as Thor's next adventure will arrive in 3D IMAX a week before the domestic release.
The good news: Some video clips allow anyone who couldn't make it to Anaheim to see the D23 Exo presentations for Marvel's Phase 2, from Thor: The Dark World to Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy.
The bad news: These video clips omit the sneak preview footage shown in the D23 arena. But you can still read out write-up of this footage, including the first clips from the Thor and Captain America sequels, by clicking right here.
Disney's biannual fan-a-palooza continued in Anaheim today.
The convention center arena was host to the studio's presentation on its upcoming live-action slate, offering up new looks at and information on Star Wars: Episode VII and spinoffs, as well as Marvel Studios efforts Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Avengers: Age of Ultron.
If you had any doubts that Thor: The Dark World will expand the scope and heighten the action of its predecessor, a new theatrical trailer for the Marvel Studios sequel puts those doubts to bed.
Any good sandwich needs some cheese.
The Thor: The Dark World sandwich is getting a couple slices of swiss from its latest poster, which piles on a surprising chunk of the ensemble cast and makes it very clear that this sequel is a big, sweeping piece of fantasy adventure.
It's a little bit cheesy, but that's a good thing. Don't fear the cheese.
Packing your bag for a trip to San Diego this week? Big fan of Marvel Studios? Enjoy free stuff?
Marvel has unveiled two posters, one each for Thor: The Dark World and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, that will be handed out for free at Comic-Con this week.
Happy Thorsday, everybody!
With Iron Man 3 having unseated Transformers: Dark of the Moon as the fifth-biggest global grosser of all time (not adjusted for inflation), it's time to get lathered up about the next sequel from Marvel Studios, Thor: The Dark World.
The celestial music filling the mead halls of Asgard in this year's Thor: The Dark World will sound a bit different than expected, it seems.
Carter Burwell, long set to provide the score for the second movie in Marvel's much-ballyhooed Phase 2, has departed the project.
Thor: The Dark World, the second movie of Marvel Studios' Phase 2, hits theaters in less than six months. It's never too soon to feel the hype for a Marvel movie, so we're happy to present three image scans from the sequel.
These admittedly not-HD scans give us new looks at Chris Hemsworth in the redesigned Thor regalia, as well as Christopher Eccleston as the villainous Malekith the Accursed and a cadre of his Dark Elf soldiers.
