Opening in theaters on March 2nd is the new film from director Paul Weitz (American Pie, About a Boy, Little Fockers) called Being Flynn, which is based on the popular book "Another Bullshit Night in Suck City" by author Nick Flynn. The film stars two-time Oscar winner and living legend Robert De Niro (Raging Bull, Goodfellas, Casino) as Jonathan, a homeless man who re-connects with his estranged son after becoming a resident at the shelter where he now works. In addition to De Niro, the excellent cast includes four-time Oscar nominee Julianne Moore (Boogie Nights, The Big Lebowski, The Kids Are All Right), Paul Dano (Little Miss Sunshine, There Will Be Blood, Cowboys & Aliens), Olivia Thirlby (Juno, Solitary Man, No Strings Attached), and Lili Taylor (Short Cuts, I Shot Andy Warhol, Public Enemies).
IAR's very own Dana Feldman recently had a chance to sit down and speak with the film's director Paul Weitz, as well as actors Paul Dano, and Olivia Thirlby about their work on Being Flynn. The director and his actors discussed the new film, Weitz's seven-year process to bring Flynn's popular memoir to the big screen, Dano's extensive research for his role, Thirlby's own volunteer work; her character's arc, and what it was like for all of them to work with the iconic Robert De Niro.
Synopsis: "New Year's Eve" celebrates love, hope, forgiveness, second chances and fresh starts, in intertwining stories told amidst the pulse and promise of New York City on the most dazzling night of the year
After The Fighter became a huge critical and commercial success last year, director David O. Russell found himself in a good position for his next project, but what that project would be took a little while to pin down. The man behind Three Kings, Flirting With Disaster, and Spanking the Monkey was attached to Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, but he departed that shamblefest and is currently making The Silver Linings Playbook, a dramatic comedy centered on a broken man who moves in with his mother after spending a few years in an institution. An official synopsis has made its way online, along with the first official images from the film, featuring Bradley Cooper, Robert De Niro, and Jacki Weaver.
Americans love football, and tomorrow, an estimated 100 million eyes will be watching the Super Bowl! During the game, be sure to check out Relativity Media's Super ad for Limitless. Showcasing their upcoming paranoia-fueled action thriller, Relativity Media's slick, film spot is a nice break from the onslaught of car ads. The Limitless trailer is a fast paced, enticing spot that boasts "Brilliance, Wealth, Power" and asks, "How Much Can You Take?"
Famed filmmaker Martin Scorsese will once again team with frequent collaborator and fan favorite lead man Robert De Niro. Scorsese recently announced the plans to reunite with De Niro for The Irishman, a crime drama revolving around a union official turned hitman.
The script is written by Gangs of New York screenwriter Steve Zallian, and is based off of the novel I Heard You Paint Houses by Charles Brandt.
According to Scorsese the film is in the middle of financial stages now, and is expected to begin shooting next year.

Despite losing technical steam after Meet The Parents, the Focker family line continues on just as the film’s do. Next up for Greg Focker is the Paul Weitz directed Little Fockers, and as you probably guessed, the story focuses on the arrival of a baby Focker.
An epic team-up of Martin Scorsese, Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Joe Pesci is in the works, according to Deadline.com. Pacino and Pesci are reportedly circling The Irishman, a project Scorsese is planning with his old pal Bobby D. While Pacino and De Niro have of course teamed up before (on Heat and Righteous Kill), and De Niro and Pesci have worked together many times (Goodfellas and Raging Bull being the most obvious), the three have never starred in a flick together, which makes this possibility rather drool-worthy for all the film fanatics out there. (Not to mention the fact that Scorsese would be at the helm!)
Are you ready for Machete?
Lovers of old-school grindhouse cinema can surely appreciate the over-the-top antics that fill the trailer, and undoubtedly will be a major part of this sick looking flick (“sick” as in muther f*cking awesome btw).
So this week, iamROGUE takes a look at the top 10 reasons why we’re excited to see Machete.
The first official trailer for Stone has been release, and we've got it embedded for you right here. The drama stars Robert De Niro, Edward Norton and Milla Jovovich, and the real surprise might be that it's Jovovich who seems to be delivering the most impressive performance. The actress, playing a convict's seductive wife, appears to more than hold her own among the two acting heavyweights. It's nice to see Milla in a movie where she's not toting a gun or kicking someone's butt - not that there's anything wrong with that - rather, she's showing off some acting chops.
The rest of the movie looks good, if not somewhat average, with De Niro and Norton assuredly playing characters that aren't necessarily out of their comfort zones. Here's the official synopsis: As parole officer Jack Mabry (De Niro) counts the days toward a quiet retirement, he is asked to review the case of Gerald “Stone” Creeson (Norton), in prison for covering up the murder of his grandparents with a fire. Now eligible for early release, Stone needs to convince Jack he has reformed, but his attempts to influence the older man’s decision have profound and unexpected effects on them both. Stone skillfully weaves together the parallel journeys of two men grappling with dark impulses, as the line between lawman and lawbreaker becomes precariously thin.
