In news that should surprise absolutely no one, Casey Affleck has "revealed" that the long-winded Joaquin Phoenix hoax was... just that, a hoax. Someone should tell Affleck that 99.9% of the world already guessed that.

Borat star Sacha Baron Cohen will be putting his wacky antics aside to play Freddie Mercury in a biopic about the Queen frontman, reports Deadline.com. Oscar nominee Peter Morgan (The Queen, Frost/Nixon) is writing the flick, which will be produced by GK Films (The Departed).

Columbia Pictures is bringing the popular young adult book series "Goosebumps" to the big-screen, and obviously, the ideal candidate to adapt the series is the guy who wrote The Last House on the Left! That's right, Carl Ellsworth, who re-wrote the remake of Wes Craven's disturbing shocker about the rape and torture of a teenage girl, is the man for the job when it comes to bringing R.L. Stine's classic series to life.

Danny Trejo Hops on His Chopper For 'Tarantula'

Machete star Danny Trejo (Machete)  is revving up to star in Tarantula, an indie biker thriller being directed by Oley Sassone (who helmed a lot of schlocky TV like "Hercules" and "Xena: Warrior Princess"). Erin Cummings ("Spartacus: Blood and Sand") will co-star.

Alex Proyas (The Crow, I, Robot, Dark City) has signed on to direct an adaptation of Paradise Lost, based on the classic 17th-century poem by John Milton. Legendary Pictures' (The Dark Knight, Watchmen) Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni will produce the possibly 3D project with Vince Newman.  The project is expected to fall under Legendary's co-production and co-financing  agreement with Warner Bros., which will distribute the film worldwide.

More acquisition news is coming out of Toronto, as IFC Films has bought the rights to Werner Herzog's 3D documentary Caves of Forgotten Dreams. This follows IFC's snatching up of James Gunn's ribald superhero flick Super just a few days ago.

Picture Kevin James as a mixed martial arts fighter. If that conjures up happy imagery for you, then I'm sure you'll be in heaven when you learn that Sony Pictures is developing a comedy about that very subject.

White-hot Olivia Wilde ("House", upcoming TRON: Legacy and Cowboys & Aliens) has just joined Universal's The Change-Up, a high-concept comedy starring Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman. David Dobkin (The Wedding Crashers) is directing from a script written by Scott Moore and Jon Lucas (The Hangover). That's a comedy all-star team right there!

More casting news has come in for Nicolas Winding Refn's high-octane Drive - I swear, if I had a dollar for every casting update on this flick I'd have... 'bout 4 or 5 bucks. And yet, how can I argue when each update is cooler than the last?

The first ten minutes of the new Emma Stone comedy Easy A have popped up online, and we've got 'em for your viewing pleasure, embedded below. Here's another movie where we have to pretend Emma Stone can be "anonymous" to the opposite sex. Yeah, okay... But, that said, because she's so appealing and likable, we're apt to just follow along on her goofy journey. (Plus you get to see her in the shower at one point!)
