Movie News

While the world surfs the Avengers: Age of Ultron hype-wave, Marvel Studios is waxing up its surfboard for next summer's superhero slugfest, Captain America: Civil War.

Filming on the sequel is set commence within the next two weeks, kicking off in Atlanta, Georgia by April 1st and marking the start of a production that will stop by Puerto Rico and Berlin.  As the filmmakers slide through the final stretch of pre-production, some fascinating details have emerged from the sequel.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to check out a slew of Mission: Impossible 5 first look promotion, from the first teaser trailer to a trio of official pictures to a vertiginous poster.

Like an IMF agent suddenly whipping off an uncannily convincing rubber mask, Paramount pulled a surprise move today, unveiling a maelstrom of marketing for the sequel, which it turns out is called Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation.  It's all in anticipation of the full theatrical trailer, which hits on Monday.

A really good romantic comedy – one that is charming, heartfelt, and invests us in characters who behave roughly like actual human beings – is worth its weight in gold.

So we're pretty intrigued by Man Up, a British romcom buoyed by lead performances from Lake Bell and Simon Pegg.  Based on the new trailer, which debuted today along with a quartet of pictures, Man Up looks much better than the title suggests.  In fact, Man Up looks like its worth a brick or two of fried gold.

It's chimichanga time: Production on Deadpool is finally underway in Vancouver, B.C., and the stars of this Marvel Comics spinoff are sharing their enthusiasm for the Merc with a Mouth.

Wade Wilson himself, Ryan Reynolds, has shared a bit of insight into the whole approach to this action-comedy, while Morena Baccarin and TJ Miller have revealed that they're playing Marvel characters Copycat and Weasel, respectively.

When you make a Super Bowl bet with Matt Damon, you'd better be ready for the consequences.  In this case, those consequences indirectly include our first look at The Martian, Ridley Scott's next movie.

See, Damon's assistant lost their big game bet and now the Seattle Seahawks superfan has to sport a New England Patriots shirt everywhere for a year.  And we mean everywhere: the first unofficial image from The Martian shows Damon and his assistant Colin wearing a Patriots tee in a Jordanian desert.

With just three weeks until Furious 7 hits on April 3rd, it's time to put the pedal to the metal.

We're doing just that thanks to four high-impact new clips from the film, including a knock-down, drag-out brawl between Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham, a breakneck highway heist, and Kurt Russell masterfully making exposition look easy.

As if that weren't enough, we also have three featurettes going behind the scenes of Furious 7 to look at the new members of the Fast family, the bar-raising action sequences, and the poignant return to the old Toretto home.

With the addition of a bona fide movie star, Fraggle Rock might finally become a movie.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt has signed on to lead the first big screen adventure of the Fraggles, Jim Henson's allegorical, wacky, fascinatingly educational puppet critters.

The Fault In Our Stars captured lightning in a bottle last year.  This summer, Paper Towns, another adaptation of a bestselling novel by John Green, attempts to pull off a second in-bottle lightning strike, this time without terminally ill teens.

20th Century Fox has unveiled the first theatrical trailer, poster, and a bumper crop of pictures from Paper Towns, which introduce Cara Delevingne as the ultimate Manic Pixie Dream Girl.

Are you wearing socks?

Well prepare to have them knocked off by this new Avengers: Age of Ultron extended TV spot, which is basically a minute straight of barn-burning new footage from Marvel's super-sequel.

Like Judge Dredd himself, Alex Garland is acting as judge, jury, and executioner, and the scraggly criminal he's sentencing to death is Dredd 2.

Actually, that's not quite true; Garland, who wrote and produced the 2012 take on Mega City One's finest lawman, is just the messenger, but the message is simple and brutal.  A Dredd sequel is dead, and it was the audience that executed it.
