5 Reasons To See ‘The Social Network'

David Fincher’s The Social Network made it’s official theatrical arrival today. The film centers on Mark Zuckerberg (played by Jesse Eisenberg), and his socially pivotal creation, Facebook.com. You’ve likely spotted the picture’s trailer on TV, or online at this point, and if the trailer didn’t get your blood boiling, I’ll give you 5 more reasons to see The Social Network.

David Fincher: With David Fincher directing the film, there shouldn’t be too much doubt lingering as to the quality of the films assembly. Fincher has provided viewers with some of the most riveting pictures to be released over the last three decades. Amongst his career highs reside Se7en, The Game, Fight Club, Zodiac and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

Jesse Eisenberg’s unique brand of comedy: Few can pull off the dead-pan comedy routine as well as Jesse Eisenberg. Regardless of his relative inexperience, Eisenberg works comedy like Arnold Schwarzenegger works the Terminator. Few actors (even seasoned veterans) can transition from intensely serious to outrageously hilarious in the same manner as Eisenberg. It's a rare quality that stands out in today's market.

Justin Timberlake‘s acting chops: Timberlake looks to be slowly distancing himself from music and working his way deeper into the channels of cinema, and that’s a good thing. Not only does the former ‘N Sync front-man know how to act (pretty damn well might I add), he’s sure to have the ladies drooling. That’s never a bad thing when you’re a featured actor in a highly anticipated film.

All the buzz: It seems everyone alive is talking about this picture. The film’s premise has everyone from your 12 year old nephew to your 50 year old uncle chattering. A successfully aggressive promotional push clearly has everyone’s eyes open.

Facebook.com: If you don’t have a Facebook page, you’re officially behind the social curve. It’s easily one of, if not the most successful social networking sites online, and the name alone is foreign to few, page-holder or not. The site has revolutionized the way we communicate today, and if a film centered on Facebook's creation doesn’t stir at least a little bit of interest, you may want to check your pulse after you log offline, forever.

The Social Network stars Jesse Eisenberg, Justin Timberlake, Andrew Garfield, and Rooney Mara and is now playing in theaters.
