Five Revealing Videos Go Behind the Scenes of Marvel's 'Avengers: Age of Ultron'

Disney officially opened the floodgates with yesterday's mega-trailer, starting a two-month torrent of Avengers: Age of Ultron promotion.

Between now and May 1st, you're going to get positively pummeled by hype for the sequel to the second biggest movie of all time (not adjusted for inflation).  It might get old in about a month, but right now, you're riding high from that trailer, foaming at the mouth eager for every shred of Marvel action available.

There's suddenly a whole lot more of it, because a bumper crop of tantalizing Avengers: Age of Ultron behind the scenes videos have arrived online.

The first two are from Entertainment Tonight, so they're fluffy and awkward but fun, mostly just because these actors have such infectious chemistry.  The second three, here by way of Cineplex, are a bit more insightful, spending time with Joss Whedon and Jeremy Renner in particular.  The last video is the best, though, because it goes into the prop department to check out Cap's shields, Hawkeye's bow and arrows, and even Thor's hammers.

That's not all, either, since Whedon is talking a bit about his visual approach to the sequel and the handling of Avengers' breakout star. “There is more Hulk in this movie than there was in the last first. But what I’m excited about is we shot this movie very differently. I was running a lot of cameras, I was shooting long lenses, which I don’t usually do," Whedon tells SFX (by way of THR).

“What I love is we have the opportunity, because we went in with this mission statement, to shoot the Hulk like a character in a movie, and not like a ‘Look what we’ve got!’ We have ‘overs’ – blurry ‘Hulk’s over there! Bits, very quick shots," he says. "Everything isn’t ‘We built the Hulk so for god’s sake you’re going to watch him in this long take, full frame, the whole time!’ We really got to make him one of the characters in the movie. And that was a gift.”

Marvel's most ambitious endeavor yet, Avengers: Age of Ultron brings back Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders), and War Machine (Don Cheadle), along with Falcon (Anthony Mackie), Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell), Heimdall (Idris Elba), and who knows who else.

Ultron (James Spader), Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), Vision (Paul Bettany), Ulysses Klaw (Andy Serkis), and maybe more all join the MCU in a big way.
