Disney and Pixar Get Emotional with the Latest 'Inside Out' Poster

Our long national nightmare is finally almost over: a new Pixar movie is on the way.

After a Pixarless 2014, 2015 brings Inside Out, an ambitious comedy-drama that explores some fascinating cinematic territory: the mind of an eleven-year-old girl.

In anticipation of the full theatrical trailer, which hits tomorrow, Disney has unveiled the Inside Out one-sheet showing off "the little voices inside your head."

The lead characters of Inside Out are actually emotions: Amy Poehler voices Joy, Bill Hader voices Fear, Mindy Kaling voices Disgust, Phyllis Smith voices Sadness, and Lewis Black brings Anger to screaming, vein-bulging vocal life.

All five emotions live jockey for supremacy and respond to outside stimuli from the "control center" of Riley's mind.  Even though she is the setting, Riley (voiced by Kaitlyn Dias) is something of a supporting character as her emotions go through the tumult of her family's big move from the Midwest to San Francisco, a fraught experience for any sensitive youngster.

The brainchild of Up and Monsters Inc. co-director and co-writer Pete Docter, Inside Out is scheduled to open nationwide on June 15, 2015, ending a long Pixar drought following 2013's Monsters University.

Diane Lane and Kyle MacLachlan are also in the voice cast, playing Riley's parents, who were also introduced in the teaser trailer (included below the synopsis).

Inside Out is the first of two Pixar releases scheduled to hit theaters this year; it'll be followed by The Good Dinosaur.  Originally planned for summer 2014, The Good Dinosaur was shuffled to November 25, 2015 after Pixar kicked director Bob Peterson to to the curb in 2013, eventually replacing the helmer with Peter Sohn.

Check back tomorrow for the Inside Out trailer!

From the tepuis of South America to a monster-filled metropolis, Academy Award®-winning director Pete Docter has taken audiences to unique and imaginative places. In 2015, he will take us to the most extraordinary location of all – inside the mind of an 11-year-old named Riley.

Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it’s no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions – Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith).

The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley’s main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school.
