Mystic Warrior Steven Seagal Kicks Off Production on 'Code of Honor'

In his acclaimed academic work on the whirlwind of unstoppable violence/social justice, eminent Seagalogist Vern notes that if you traced Steven Seagal's footsteps, "you will find a trail of broken windows and bones."¹

The latest step on Seagal's mythic path of shattered glass and bones is Code of Honor, a new action-thriller that just starting shooting today.

That simple, three-word title recalls Seagal greats of seasons past Above the Law and Hard to Kill.  Like those classics, Code of Honor finds actor, producer, musician, 7th degree Aikido black belt, environmentalist, and lawman Seagal starring as a lone warrior with an unerring moral compass and a capacity cause internal bleeding using little more than a well-placed strike or the piercing power of his squint.

In the new picture, Seagal plays "a special forces colonel who has recently returned back home from the middle east after going on terminal leave," only to discover that his once-peaceful, thriving hometown has been overrun by scumbags more villainous than both drug-peddlers and terrorists: narco-terrorists.

With no other choice, he decides to "do what he does best," which presumably means breaking bones and throwing bad guys through windows.  An old compatriot attempts to put an end to our hero's crusade, but as the official synopsis notes, "almost no one can stop him."

Guns, Girls and Gambling director Michael Wyncott is overseeing the production in Salt Lake City, Utah.  Seagal's costars include Helena Mattson, familiar from the FX series Fargo, as well as Craig Sheffer, who you'll remember from One Tree Hill and Wings of Honor.

Here's the full press release heralding the start of principal photography on Code of Honor:

CODE OF HONOR is the story of a special forces colonel who has recently returned back home from the middle east after going on terminal leave. He quickly realizes his home town has disintegrated into a violent degenerate world run by murderers and narco-terrorists.  After little deliberation he decides to covertly enter the shadow world and do what he does best. Almost no one can stop him, but an old teammate tries.

CODE OF HONOR is being produced by Premiere Entertainment's Noto and CEO Elias Axume.
