Thus far we’ve learned that the film stars Kyle Chandler and Elle Fanning, and that’s just about it. Today, Box Office Mojo updated their Super 8 info page, providing us with a release date; June 8th, 2011. How official that date is remains to be seen, as the film is still shooting in West Virgina.

Abrams however, is a man who knows exactly what he wants, and how he wants it, so to believe the film will be wrapped and ready for release in just about 8 months isn’t unreasonable. With that kind of turnaround, we should expect a bit more information to trickle down the pipeline soon, regardless of how secretive Abrams may be.
