Would the announcement of Channing Tatum’s participation in the upcoming 21 Jump Street conjure any extra interest in seeing this odd choice of a film adaptation? Probably not, but it looks like Tatum is a go for one of the film’s leads.
According to Drew over at HitFix, Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum will likely be characters named Kenko and Schmidt. Drew spills a few script details, including the fact that the two characters will be working undercover together, only to be called out by the drug dealers they’re trying to bust for being too young. After some humiliating issues, the two are assigned the task of working out of 21 Jump Street.
As Hill has already let on, there’s some serious comedy in this flick, but it’s not all played for laughs. To what extent the humor will be pushed remains to be seen, but the plot breakdown holds a little intrigue.
We’ll find out soon enough what to expect from Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum acting opposite one another as undercover agents… man, that just sounds weird!
