‘The Thing’ Gets New Release Date!

Here’s a bit of news I’m extremely excited for! After being pushed back to make plenty of time for the proper post production work required, we were left to speculate as to just when Matthijs van Heijningen Jr.’s prequel to John Carpenter’s 1982 film The Thing would see release.

Well, we’ve got great news for you, The Thing will land in theaters just in time for next Halloween, as Universal has an October 14th release in mind! Here’s hoping no new obstacles arise that could see the film’s release rescheduled yet again.

The Thing will give us a look at the Norwegian research facility that MacReady (Kurt Russell) investigates in Carpenter’s original picture, and the events that lead to the entire camps demise. Which means, we’ll finally get a glimpse of the first alien freed from it’s frozen confines, and exactly how it manages to dispose of a whole research team.

My blood is almost boiling, and I’ve still got nearly a year before I can catch this one!
