Exclusive Interview with Tilda Swinton

Tilda Swinton is one of the finest actresses of our generation. Her work has been widely praised, even earning an Academy Award for her deeply wounded portrayal of Karen Crowder in Michael Clayton.

It didn't take long for audiences to see the singular complexity that she enriches with each and every performance. From her androgynous and seductive work in Orlando to her wounded mother protecting a murder suspect son in The Deep Sea her work is shockingly good. And now, she shines as a Russian born woman married to an oppressive Italian businessman in I Am Love. Her performance is simply astonishing.

I had the amazing opportunity to speak one on one with Tilda the other day. It was not quite what I expected. With such a serious actress, you would think it would be… well, different than it was. But she is one of the kindest, and classiest women I’ve had the pleasure of interviewing. The second she arrived at the Four Seasons to carry on the interviews, she made sure to introduce herself to everyone waiting and was full of humor and grace.

Not only is she an amazing talent, she is also kind and very sincere. So if you are looking for something a little different from your typical summer blockbuster, check out I Am Love starting Friday at selected theatres. And also, look for a re-release of Sally Potter’s Orlando next month, please check it out, it is a fascinating film.
