If you’re already a fan of Taylor, you’ll be pleasantly surprised to find that the format suits her signature wacky, digressive style. Taylor says, “What is great about Rogue is that they take chances and they pay off."
Nick Turner, Relativity Media’s SVP of Digital Media, is equally spirited about Taylor and Tube Top. He explains, “we’ve been impressed with Brittani’s enthusiasm and work ethic and it became obvious that she would be the perfect person to shine a light on some of creative and innovative programming being done on YouTube today.”
Turner also pointed out that innovative engagement with YouTube is not new at Rogue, saying, “Recently in the marketing of our movies, we created a number of incredibly successful online marketing campaigns with multiple YouTube video stars.” These campaigns, for the alien-invasion extravaganza Skyline and the engrossing, perceptive documentary Catfish, were produced with YouTube staples Phillip DeFranco, JoeNationTV, OglaKay, iJustine, and TotallySketch and garnered much public interest in both films.
As for Tube Top, Taylor is looking to the future, as she hopes to add the occasional guest star and a Test Tube feature drawing attention to “up and coming YouTuber videos.” Check out the first episode right here, and head over to the videos section to catch Tube Top every week.
So, what’s your favorite clip featured in the first episode? Is it “The Awkward Date”? Or maybe “Symphony of Violence”?
