Trailer: 'The Bang Bang Club' Isn't What It Sounds Like

Back in 2006, I remember a whole theater erupting into laughter during the trailer for Blood Diamond, when Leonardo DiCaprio said, in a heavy South African accent, "In America it's bling-bling, out here it's bling bang."  That film ended up being widely loved, so maybe there's a shot for The Bang Bang Club, in which Ryan Phillippe and Taylor Kitsch put on their best South African accents to play photojournalists in the chaos of the first post-Apartheid elections in the country.  Here's a trailer, with a few moments that could be slightly less than safe for work (via Slashfilm):

The film is based on a memoir by Greg Marinovich and Joao Silva, two of the four photographers at the heart of the story.  Ryan Phillippe plays Marinovich, and his love interest is portrayed by Watchmen's Malin AkermanTaylor Kitsch, who appeared on Friday Night Lights and as Gambit in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, is set to have a big 2012: he's playing the title role in Disney's epic science fiction fantasy John Carter of Mars and is the lead in Peter Berg's Battleship movie.  The Bang Bang Club is written and directed by Steven Silver.

Do you think Phillipe and Kitsch will be able to nail those accents down without being laughable?
