Spy Photos: Renner and Arterton in Costume as 'Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters'

In the action-comedy Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, the fairy tale siblings are all grown up and still pretty upset about that witch trying to eat them fifteen years before. As the title suggests, the siblings, played by Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton, are now professional witch-disposal experts. The film is shooting in Germany, and a lucky photographer snapped the first images of Renner and Arterton in costume on the set. Hansel and Gretel evidently follow the Blade Principal, which states that any cinematic hunter of supernatural creatures must wear leather. Too bad it would be anachronistic for the siblings to sport sunglasses. Check out six more images over at Accidental Sexiness.

Gemma Arterton should be familiar from Prince of Persia, Quantum of Solace, and Clash of the Titans, while Renner has two consecutive Oscar nominations for The Hurt Locker and The Town. They are directed in Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters by Tommy Wirkola, the Norwegian director responsible for the Nazi-zombie mashup Dead Snow. Also making appearances in the film are Famke Janssen, who plays a leader of witches and Peter Stormare as an unsavory sheriff. The brother and sister will burn every gingerbread house to the ground on March 2nd, 2012.
