Optimus Prime Optimally Poses in New 'Transformers: Dark of the Moon' Banner

In the first action sequence of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Optimus Prime and his Autobots came off as total jags, dropping in on and brutally murdering a couple Decepticons who were just chilling in Shanghai, being robots in disguise – not hurting anybody. That, as well as the misbegotten film that ensued, is enough to make your wonder about these Autobots. In a new banner promoting the upcoming three-quel Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Optimus strikes a pose that makes him seem like a bully demanding that you hand over your lunch money.

Sure, I've seen him wreck a Decepticon or two, but between the wildly oversized gun, red hot sword, and flaming paint job, I'm started to think that maybe Optimus is just a poseur. To quote Jay Z, "You know the type: loud as a motorbike, but wouldn't bust a grape in a fruit fight." Think about it.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon is director Michael Bay's swan song with the franchise, and will likely be Shia LaBeouf's farewell, too. Along with series regulars LaBeouf, Kevin Dunn, Tyrese Gibson, John Turturro, and Josh Duhamel, the film also stars new recruits Rosie Huntington-Whitely, Alan Tudyk, Dr. Ken Jeong, John Malkovich, Frances McDormand, and Patrick Dempsey. The 3D Bayhem ensues on July 1st.
