'The Avengers' Assemble Promo Poster: First Look at Hawkeye and Cap

At the Licensing International Expo in Las Vegas, merchandisers from all over the world come together to get a look at properties with the potential for tie-in merch. The licensing bonanza begins today, and a poster from The Avengers for the expo has made its way online. It's not a theatrical poster, but does feature the whole team together, including our first idea of what Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye outfit will look like, as well as a clear look at the modernized version of the Captain America costume worn by Chris Evans.

We've known for awhile that the Captain America outfit featured in The Avengers will update the WWII-era regalia he sports in next month's Captain America: The First Avenger, and this is our first glimpse the newer, sleeker, costume with fewer buckles.

Marvel Studios has been setting up The Avengers since Iron Man, when SHIELD made its cinematic debut courtesy of Clark Gregg and Samuel L. Jackson. Both actors will show up in the super-ensemble directed by Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon, who also provided a rewrite or two on the screenplay. The film stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Cobie Smulders, Tom Hiddleston, and Stellan Skarsgard.

The Avengers will assemble at a theater near you May 3, 2012.
