Second, Superior Poster for 'Captain America: The First Avenger'

The first poster for Captain America: The First Avenger dropped way, way back in February, before we'd seen even a glimpse of actual footage from the film, and that teaser poster featured a muted color scheme and a somber Cap.  A second poster dropped today, in anticipation of an all new theatrical trailer, and this one is a whole lot more colorful and enjoyably propagandistic.  This time, the focus is on Chris Evans' square jaw, a magic-hour sunset, and that exquisite shield, all with the stars and stripes flapping away in the background.  Give a hardy salute to this handsome piece of posterism.

As is so often the often the case, this poster first showed up over at Yahoo! Movies

Both the more low-key first poster and this new one are cool, but the cast and crew poster painted by Paola Rivera definitely takes the proverbial cake.

Captain America: The First Avenger is less than a month away from it's July 22nd release.  Since Thor earned about 60% of its domestic take from 3D screenings but every subsequent 3D release this summer has been considerably lower, I'm curious to see how the three dimensional version of Cap plays nationwide.  The film is directed by Joe Johnston, and as you no doubt know by now, also stars Hayley Atwell, Hugo Weaving, Stanley Tucci, Dominic Cooper, Sebastian Stan, and Tommy Lee Jones.

Be sure to check back for the new theatrical trailer.
