Ludicrous 'Spy Kids: All the Time in the World' Trailer Boasts 4D

If you could send this first trailer for Spy Kids: All the Time in the World back in time to 1996, moviegoers just out of From Dusk Till Dawn probably wouldn't believe that the upcoming franchise rejiggering was directed by Robert Rodriguez, the same guy behind El Mariachi and Desperado.  And not just because of the dueling novelties of 3D and Smell-O-Vision-style Aroma-Scope.  There's also the matters of Ricky Gervais inexplicably voicing a robot dog and Jeremy Piven playing a time-stealing villain with a terrible goatee.  All these things and more are on display in the first Spy Kids 4 trailer, along with Jessica Alba as a superspy stepmom.

The preview, which could conceivably trigger migraines and nosebleeds in anyone over the age of eight, debuted at Yahoo! Movies.

Rowan Blanchard and Mason Cook take over the new tiny spies, but original junior espionage agents Daryl Sabara and Alexa Vega return as Spy Adults Juni and Carmen Cortez, last seen in 2003's Spy Kids: Game Over, which preceded the current 3D craze by a solid half-decade.  Also returning from previous installments are Antonio Banderas and Danny Trejo, once again playing Machete.  Sadly, Carla Gugino will not be back, but Joel McHale will play Wilbur, the clueless husband to Jessica Alba's retired spy.

Spy Kids: All the Time in the World will inspire get scents all up on you as of August 19th.
