The first official trailer for Stone has been release, and we've got it embedded for you right here. The drama stars Robert De Niro, Edward Norton and Milla Jovovich, and the real surprise might be that it's Jovovich who seems to be delivering the most impressive performance. The actress, playing a convict's seductive wife, appears to more than hold her own among the two acting heavyweights. It's nice to see Milla in a movie where she's not toting a gun or kicking someone's butt - not that there's anything wrong with that - rather, she's showing off some acting chops.
The rest of the movie looks good, if not somewhat average, with De Niro and Norton assuredly playing characters that aren't necessarily out of their comfort zones. Here's the official synopsis: As parole officer Jack Mabry (De Niro) counts the days toward a quiet retirement, he is asked to review the case of Gerald “Stone” Creeson (Norton), in prison for covering up the murder of his grandparents with a fire. Now eligible for early release, Stone needs to convince Jack he has reformed, but his attempts to influence the older man’s decision have profound and unexpected effects on them both. Stone skillfully weaves together the parallel journeys of two men grappling with dark impulses, as the line between lawman and lawbreaker becomes precariously thin.
