1. Movies based on board games are rarely good (exception: the hilariously brilliant Clue), so I have very low expectations for this one.
2. Like how all actors don't make good pop stars (i.e. Lindsay Lohan's failed music career), all pop stars DO NOT make good actors.
Hugely successful pop stars have a way of deluding themselves into thinking they can be giant movie stars. And while Cher did win an Academy Award for Moonstruck, besides that ONE EXAMPLE, few other pop icons have fared so well in the film industry. So I'm continuously amazed that studios would give millions of dollars to these inexperienced women in the hopes that one of the many might actually turn out to be good.
Peter Berg will direct this 2012 release, "which takes place across the seas, over the skies and land in a battle for planet survival against a superior force."
Do you think after Battleship, Rihanna might join Ridley Scott's Monopoly?
