Tasteless Holidays: 4 New Posters for 'A Very Harold and Kumar 3D Christmas'

Slapping "3D" into a movie's title will inform audiences in no uncertain terms that the movie is presented in three dimensions, but what if a marketing team also wants to assure moviegoers that the film is also a happily coarse holiday-themed comedy? For A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas, the answer is simple: a massive, unambiguously phallic candy cane pointing directly at the viewer, suggesting both ribald vulgarity and gimmicky dimensionality. In a brand new series of character posters, Neil Patrick Harris holds the aforementioned candy-phallus, while Harold and Kumar themselves, John Cho and Kal Penn, enjoy a rifle and some herb, respectively. A final poster brings them all together in holiday merriment.

All four posters made their ostentatious debut at Yahoo! Movies.

Series writers Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg once again wrote the screenplay, but could not return to direct as they did on Harold & Kumar Escape Guantanamo Bay, as they're currently busy directing another comedy sequel, American Reunion. Todd Strauss-Schulson takes over as director in their stead. Once again, David Krumholtz and Eddie Kaye Thomas play Goldstein and Rosenberg, with Paula Garces returning as Harold's beloved Maria. The characters that the titular stoner duo encounter will be brought to life this time by the likes of Patton Oswalt, Elias Koteas, Danny Trejo, Jordan Hinson, Melissa Ordway, and Thomas Lennon.

A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas arrives in theaters on November 4th.
