But one thing that really stood out is the clever way some films were being promoted. Studios were looking for ways that those in attendance could be a part of their film. Whether it be the frightening world of Alien or the cool (and stuff) ‘Scott Pilgrim Experience’, there were tons of ways that you could create a few odd and geeky enjoyable moments. Let’s take a look at iamROGUE’s favorite places to hang when it came to promotions.
Alright Con, what did you have to offer?

5. Okay, I’m a sucker for zombies. And while Walking Dead didn’t really offer much more than walking dead and a groovy looking booth, I was happy just to see these creepy made-up flesh eaters tearin’ it up on the convention floor. Congrats to the hired zombies as they never once slipped up, or were they actually zombies? Hmmmm...

4. The THQ booth had something fun to offer as well. You ever want to step inside the shoes (shoes??) of a giant robot? Well, while promoting their upcoming game “Red Faction Armageddon” (due to hit stores March, 2011) they brought out the big guns. Attendees were given a chance to step inside a giant robot and get a glimpse of what it would be like to be one. Robotastic!

3. You really can’t go wrong with “The Scott Pilgrim Experience”. You could make a T-shirt, play a video game and just chill in a setting that looked as if it had come directly from the new film. Maybe this wouldn’t have been so utterly epic had I not watched the movie, but since I did… it was Epic Epicness!

2. Aliens still holds up today as one of the greatest examples of how well you can blend genres (horror and sci-fi) and make a classic film. And the first two Alien films certainly can be considered classics, even if the last two don’t work quite as well. Either way, if you were at the Con this year, you could take a moment and lay inside the pods the crew of the “NOSTROMO” slept in for the first Alien film. And once you were inside, you couldn’t escape an onslaught of images offering a little insight into the latest Blu-ray release.

1. If the Alien pod wasn’t bad enough, you could’ve always gone over to Lionsgate’s booth to get yourself Buried. If you check out Get Buried At ComicCon, you can get a sense of what some of the guest were thinking when they were put in Ryan Reynolds claustrophobic situation. Honestly, as awesome as this looked, it seemed a bit too much for me to get trapped in a box. Just on sheer creepiness alone, this one got my vote for number one Comic Con publicity goodness.
