I guess that shouldn't be terribly surprising, since we're talking about a collaboration between Spielberg, Jackson, and the visual effects company behind The Lord of the Rings, Avatar, and Rise of the Planet of the Apes. The footage shown in 3D at Comic-Con back in July suggested that The Adventures of Tintin will look this good in motion, as well.
The cast, who spent a whole lot of time goofy motion-capture suits, includes Jamie Bell, Andy Serkis, Daniel Craig, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Cary Elwes, Mackenzie Crook, and Toby Jones. Not that you'll see any of their faces, but you'll still be seeing their performances. The screenplay is written by British dream-team Edgar Wright, Steven Moffat, and Joe Cornish, who are respectively known for Shaun of the Dead, Sherlock, and Attack the Block, amongst others. If this first film proves successful, then Spielberg and Jackson will swap roles for the sequel, with Jackson directing and Spielberg producing.
The Adventures of Tintin arrives Stateside on December 23rd.
