'Sex and the City 3' not likely, says Kristen Davis

To be up front, I haven't seen either of the Sex and the City movies, but of course I heard how terrible most people think the second one is. Even devoted fans of the show laid down some heavy hate on the flick, which was similarly slammed by critics as being a crass, obnoxious, overlong mess.

Perhaps more importantly (at least to the studio execs), the box office take for the film was not nearly as impressive as the first one, raking in $95 million domestic in comparison to the first's $152 million. Naturally, this leads some to wonder if the brand name has an life left in it...

Kristin Davis, who plays materialistic Charlotte York, doesn't think so. In an interview with E! Online (Canada), the actress had this response when asked if another round of Sex was in the offing: "I don't think so, not that I know of. I wish it was so that we were continuing but I don't know."

Davis further added, "There was so much hype, not coming from us, but the media hyped it up and then they tore it down... Obviously there was a time when we thought there was no movie happening so you never know. But it is not looking great."

Here's the thing, obvious as it may be: if they had made a good movie, no one would want to tear it down. If people actually liked it, they'd be preparing Part 3 as we speak. But they didn't, and unfortunately it seems like fans of the gals will forever have to live with the fact that Sex and the City 2 is the last time they'll ever see them... (Except in re-runs, natch.)
