Midnight Show for 'Machete' at Venice Film Fest

Machete, the Grindhouse spawned flick that is giving Danny Trejo his first major leading role will be premiering at the Venice Film Festival.

And since Robert Rodriguez directed this “midnight movie”, it makes sense that it premieres at twelve am on September 1. What better way to start the witching hour with a heavy dosage of blood, brawn and babes?

The film also stars Lindsey Lohan, Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez, Cheech Marin, Steven Segal, Jeff Fahey, Don Johnson and Robert DeNiro. If that ain’t an eclectic cast, I don’t know what is. And since it tackles a similar theme as to what is going on over in Arizona, I have a feeling audiences’ will seek this bad boy out.

So far, the Venice Film Festival is having a great start, as Black Swan will open the same day. The Darren Aronofsky film is sure to generate a little excitement due to a certain scene between Mila Kunis and Natalie Portman. Let’s just say, it is one that has much been talked about.

But if you can’t make it to the film festival to catch Machete, you will get your chance soon enough. This awesome looking flick opens on September 3, 2010.
