Meryl Streep

I've given the fanboys enough to salivate over with the James Cameron/Guillermo del Toro and Damon Lindelof/Ridley Scott news, now it's time to move on to something for just about everyone else. Another dream team, this one consisting of Meryl Streep and Tina Fey...

The lady heavyweights have agreed to star as mother and daughter in Mommy & Me, which will be directed by Stanley Tucci (who of course starred alongside Streep in The Devil Wears Prada and Julie & Julia). The project has been floating around for a little while, but it's finally been picked up, by Sony, which will distribute.

Though the storyline is a secret for now, The Hollywood Reporter claims it spotlights the thorny and funny sides of mother-daughter relationships. Expect to witness lots of fighting, crying, laughing and the true power of mother-daughter bonding.

The treatment was written by Joby Harold, an unlikely name considering the burgeoning scribe has mostly genre credits to his name, including the Hayden Christensen/Jessica Alba thriller Awake and the still-unmade Army of the Dead for Zack Snyder. He will produce alongside Steve Buscemi, Joshua Astrachan, Wren Arthur, Lucy Barzun Donnelly and Tory Tunnell.

Tucci's last film as director was 2007's Blind Date; the actor has three other credits behind the camera in Big Night, The Imposters and Joe Gould's Secret.
