Yet Another Awesome 'The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo' Poster

Given the global popularity of the novel by Stieg Larsson, the marketing for the upcoming adaptation The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo could probably consist of some dudes wearing sandwich board signs saying "David Fincher made a new version of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" and the movie would probably still do really well.  Sony has not gone that route, however, and the marketing for this film has been appropriately stylish, unique, and generally just really cool.  Another new poster, for example, doesn't just put the standard floating heads above a title, but interestingly presents Rooney Mara's Lisbeth Salander and Daniel Craig's Mikael Blomkvist with an arresting graphic approach and the fairly ominous tagline, "What Was Hidden in the Snow Comes Forth in the Thaw."

This newest poster debuted on the not-so-stealth, thoroughly sweet official Tumblr, Mouth Taped Shut, where you really ought to be checking in for goodies on the regular.

David Fincher, the auteur behind Seven, Zodiac, The Game, and Fight Club, is coming off the critical and audience acclaim for last year's The Social Network, and he's brought many of his collaborators from that film to work on The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, including cinematographer Jeff Cronenweth, editors Kurt Baxter and Angus Wall, and composers Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross.

Rooney Mara plays the title character while Daniel Craig brings his recognizable face, and the rest of the cast includes the likes of Robin Wright, Christopher Plummer, Stellan Skarsgard, Elodie Yung, Joely Richardson, Embeth Davidtz, and Goran Visnjic.

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo hits theaters on December 21st.
