While they're on the subject of posters, Sony has also revealed the finalists in the "Face of the Fan" poster contest, so skip over to the official site to participate in a superfluous democratic process, which will determine who wins a trip to the film's premiere.

Cage is the only fixture from the first film to be found in Spirit of Vengeance, and he's surround by interesting casting choices like Johnny Whitworth, Idris Elba, Christopher Lambert, and Ciaran Hinds as the Devil. Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, the duo most known for the Crank movies, take over as directors, and every indication has been that their style will create a Ghost Rider very different from Mark Steven Johnson's 2007 take on the character.
The low expectations guaranteed by that first film would seem to assure that the sequel would benefit enormously by comparison, but Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance played at Harry Knowles's annual Butt-Numb-A-Thon event over the weekend, and the response was quite uniformly terrible. In some cases, it was downright vitriolic. So perhaps we can expect that the titular demon literally pissing fire is the film's high point.
Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance is set to piss fire in theaters on February 17, 2012. You know what that means: Rogue 3D Eyewear as a Valentine's Day gift.
