Here Are the 69th Annual Golden Globe Nominees, Including 'Hugo' and 'The Descendants'

If the Academy Awards are the most respected, high profile, and sought-after awards in film, the bright center of the awards universe around which so many actors, directors, and assorted film professionals revolve during this time of the year, then the Golden Globes are...also awards.  Despite the Hollywoord Foreign Press Association's reputation for not exactly being on the up and up with these awards, the Golden Globes are probably the second biggest awards show around.  Today the HFPA announced the nominees for the 69th Annual Golden Globes, which will one again be hosted by Ricky Gervais.

Unlike most of the awards that are so numerous during the appropriately-named awards season, the Golden Globes make the distinction between dramatic and comedic/musical categories, meaning that Bridesmaids and Midnight in Paris both get some Best Picture action in the latter category.  In the same vein, Kristen Wiig is nominated for her performance in Bridesmaids, while Ryan Gosling has a nomination for Crazy, Stupid, Love.  Enough with this talk of inclusion, though.  Note the conspicuous omissions, most notably that Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy was shut out and the fact that not a single song from The Muppets received a nomination.

Here's the full list of nominees, including all those television categories:
