The trailer, which you can view in crisp, clean high definition at Apple (our embed is thanks to Collider), is very much a teaser. It sets up that Jack, a humble farm boy, gets his hands on some magical beans, leading to his kingdom's princess ending up in the giant's realm. A longstanding but tenuous peace between the humans and giants is shattered with an all-out war that only Jack can stop by saving the princess.
Nicholas Hoult, who recently played Beast in X-Men: First Class and will always be the little moppet from About a Boy, plays Jack, with Eleanor Tomlinson as the Princess. Her father, the King, is played by Ian McShane, with Ewan McGregor playing a nobly badass knight. The rest of the impressive cast includes the likes of Bill Nighy, Stanley Tucci, Eddie Marsan, John Kassir, Warwick Davis, and McGregor's Trainspotting cohort Ewen Bremner.
Jack the Giant Killer arrives in theaters on June 15, 2012.
