Four Clips From 'The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption'

With The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption arriving on Blu-ray, DVD, and digital download in a matter of mere days, Universal Studios Home Entertainment has seen fit to release four brand new clips from the action adventure. The last of the four features Victor Webster as the latest actor to portray Mathayus, a role originated by Dwayne Johnson in The Mummy Returns and played by Michael Copon in The Scorpion King: Rise of a Warrior.

Naturally, a dude called "The Scorpion King" lays waste to several henchmen without breaking a sweat. The other three clips include Billy Zane conjuring a cadre of supernatural heavy hitters, a huge battle featuring elephants and great balls of fire, and, finally, a clip of beautiful women Krystal Vee and Selina Lo fighting in inadvisably skimpy outfits.

To clarify, this film is the second sequel to 2002's The Scorpion King, which itself is a technically a prequel but really more of a spin-off to The Mummy Returns, in which the Scorpion King spent most of his screentime as a giant scorpion-man. Stephen Sommers, who wrote and directed The Mummy and its first sequel, is on board here as a producer, but directorial duties fall to Roel Reine. His previous credits include The Marine 2 and Death Race 2, both of which have a seal of approval from Vern, one of the most original and intelligent minds currently writing about film.

Victor Webster stars as the hero, with Billy Zane as the big bad, but the cast includes the likes of Ron Perlman, Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson, Krystal Vee, Dave Bautista, and Selina Lo.

The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption will be available on Blu-ray, DVD, and through digital download starting Tuesday, January 10th.
