This sequel will be the second in the series to be filmed 3D, following the success of 2010's Resident Evil: Afterlife in the format.  Milla Jovovich returns as all-purpose wrecking machine Alice, and her real-life husband Paul W.S. Anderson is also back.  Anderson directed the first Resident Evil in 2002, then sat out the subsequent two installments before hopping back behind the camera for Afterlife.  It's a shame that his last film, The Three Musketeers, isn't likely to spawn a franchise of its own, as I would've liked to see Th3 Thr33 Mus3t33rs someday.

Milla Jovovich is very much the center of this whole five-film series, but this new movie will see the return of familiar faces Sienna Guillory, Michelle Rodriguez, Ali Larter, and Oded Fehr.  Those old hats are joined by newcomers Kevin Durand and Meagan Good, who you'll recognize as Kara the Drama Vamp from Rian Johnson's excellent Brick.

Re5ident Evil: Retribution is scheduled to hit theaters on September 14th, which gives everyone more than enough time to purchase their Rogue 3D Eyewear.
