Keep it Down in There: 'The Artist' Blooper Reel Features Silent Yucks

The Artist, writer-director Michel Hazanavicius's loving homage to silent film, is a fizzy little concoction that's insubstantial but joyous, leaving audiences sort of giddy and smirky when its over.  Similarly, outtake reels are infectious bursts of goofy energy that we can all agree offer some meaningless yucks, often moreso than the film or television show they accompany.  You see where I'm going here.  The blooper reel from The Artist is now online, and it is just as light, happy, and entertaining as you'd expect.

The film has emerged as the favorite in this year's awards season, and earlier this week it officially received ten Oscar nominations, outnumbered only by Hugo's eleven nods.  Let's set all that aside, though, and enjoy two lighthearted minutes of bloopers, courtesy of AlloCine.

The Artist is currently playing in under 1,000 theaters domestically, a figure that should increase in the near future and will definitely jump if the film wins a good chunk of the awards at next months Oscars.  So you might have to work a little harder to find it, but the film, which stars Jean Dujardin, Benenice Bejo, John Goodman, Penelope Ann Miller, Missi Pyle, and James Cromwell, should be playing somewhere in your neighborhood.
